1. Details of alternative sites consideration and basis of selecting the proposed site-

Keeping in view of proximity to the main Captive Limestone mine (ML area 575.830 ha)

with peak production capacity of 4.0 MTPA (limestone) at Villages: Bairiha, Patarhai &

Janardanpur, Tehsil: Rampur Baghelan, District: Satna (Madhya Pradesh) & Jamuna

limestone Mine (ML area 89.234 ha), the proposed Cement Project site has been selected.

Four alternative sites in close proximity of the mines were studied and based on the

environmental considerations and other techno-economic aspects the proposed site was

selected.

Following are the main criteria considered for locating the proposed Cement project:

o Proximity to limestone deposit for economic viability of project and to minimise impact of

transportation.

o Proximity/ ease of access to other sources of raw materials for the proposed plant viz Road

and railway connection for corrective raw materials and finished product transport.

o Area free from environmental sensitive features viz. requiring minimum clearance of

vegetation, water bodies, non-involvement of any forest area, minimum or no disturbance

of habitation etc.

o The site should have about 100 ha of ideally flat/flatter/slightly undulating land, having

good load bearing capacity for accommodating plant, railway siding, developing of

greenbelt with all amenities for the proposed project.

o Availability of adequate ground water and / or perennial source of water in the vicinity of

the proposed project.

o Availability of reliable power.

o Social infrastructure viz. banks, post office, schools, markets, community centre, housing,

local transport and communication facilities. etc.
