Destiny’s Child – Say my name The music video follows Archer’s theory of close ups using his theory of ‘meat’ as well. The MES of the video uses bright colours that later juxtapose with darker tones showing the members of as sexy. The piece doesn’t follows Goodwin’s theory of using both narrative and performance as it is a heavily performance based piece. The structure of the video follows Goodwin’s theory of Disjuncture the video advertises and sells the band but has no link to the lyrics. The video is clearly shot on set and shows very little camera movement but keeps the audience interested through the constant changes in colour. The video also follows Archer’s idea of voyeuristic elements showing the girls in sexy outfits and performing a sexy dance routine (dance routines are connotations of a girl band video).
