Rather than adding them one by one, you can create a zip file and add them all in one go. This guide takes you through the steps to do this. Uploading Multiple Files or Folders Click on ‘File’ in the menu bar. PC: Click ‘Send to…’ Click ‘Compressed (zipped) folder’. Mac: Select ‘Compress x items’. Open the folder which holds the files. Select the files and folders you wish to upload. To select all the files, hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key (or Apple key on a Mac) and press the ‘A’ key on your keyboard. If you only wish to select some of the files, hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key while clicking on each file required. Click on the ‘Yes’ button. The zip file that is created will have the same title as the first file in your folder, and will appear next to it. If you are using a Mac, they name will be ‘Archive.zip’. Open MyLO, go to your Unit homepage and click on ‘Edit Unit’. June, 2012

You may often have a large number of files or folders that you wish to upload into your MyLO Unit. Rather than adding them one by one, you can create a zip file and add them all in one go. This guide takes you through the steps to do this.

Uploading Multiple Files or Folders

Click on ‘File’ in the menu bar.

PC:

Click ‘Send to…’

Click ‘Compressed (zipped) folder’.

Mac:

Select ‘Compress x items’.

Open the folder which holds the files.

Select the files and folders you wish to upload.

To select all the files, hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key (or Apple key on a Mac) and press the ‘A’ key on your keyboard.

If you only wish to select some of the files, hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key while clicking on each file required.

Click on the ‘Yes’ button.

The zip file that is created will have the same title as the first file in your folder, and will appear next to it. If you are using a Mac, they name will be ‘Archive.zip’.

Open MyLO, go to your Unit homepage and click on ‘Edit Unit’.

After making the zip file containing all the files, you are now in your MyLO Unit and ready to upload them into a folder in your Manage Files area, ready for retrieval.

Select the location you wish to upload the files to.

You can create a ‘New Folder’ if needed.

Click on the ‘Upload’ icon.

Under Site Resources, click on ‘Manage Files’.

Click on the ‘Choose File’ button.

Browse to the zip file you created earlier.

Click on the ‘Open’ button.

Click on the ‘Upload’ button.

Now you have located the zip file, there are just a few steps left to place the files in your Manage Files area and clean up the space so you do not have clutter or confusion later on.

Delete the zip Folder (to avoid confusion later).

Locate the zip file and click on the arrow to its right.

Click ‘Delete’ on the drop-down list.

Click on the arrow to the right of the zip file.

Click ‘Unzip’ on the drop-down list.

Click on the ‘Yes’ button in the confirmation window.
