K&K ARCHITECTS ARCHITECTURE WWW.KKARCHITECTS.GRK&K Architects was established in 2000 by Katerina Kotzia and Korina Filoxenidou. The studio deals with a variety of projects that range from exhibition design and commercial spaces to private residential projects. Projects also include participations in competitions and research programmes on urban strategies and the integration of architecture and landscape. The studio focuses on the creation of spaces that combine a strong and clear identity with an experiential nature that encourages interaction and involvement.In 2006 k&k architects designed and co-curated (with E. Constantopoulos and L. Papadopoulos) the Greek Participation in the 10th Biennale of Architecture in Venice entitled The Dispersed Urbanity of the

Aegean Archipelago. In 2006 they curated and designed the first Architecture Biennale of Thessaloniki, entitled: Architecture and the City In Southeast Europe. Projects have been published in architectural magazines and catalogues. Their work in exhibition design and architectural competitions has received numerous distinctions. Katerina Kotzia and Korina Filoxenidou were trained as architects at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1997) and they have both attended the postgraduate course MA Design Studies at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design (2000) as recipients of the Onassis Institute Scholarships. In 2000 they founded the architectural office k&k architects in Thessaloniki and in 2009 also in Athens.

GFRA ARCHITECTURE WWW.GFRA.GRThe office gfra architecture was founded in 2004 by Tasos Gousis, Joost Frijda and Eddie Roberts as a result of many years of cooperation in previous associations where they participated with the major Greek projects of the previous decade, such as projects for the Olympic Games, the new Athens airport and the Acropolis Museum competition. Joost Frijda is Dutch and has received his degree from the Delft University of Technology, while both Tasos Gousis and Eddie Roberts, who has a Welsh background, are graduates from the NTUA (Athens Polytechnic). Fotini Anagnostou becomes part of the team in 2007. In 2008 Nota Tsalta joins and supplements the team with the experience she gained at prominent architecture offices.

The multinational background of the team makes them search for new ideas and forms in architecture, to give a ‘European’

spirit to their design. This has been recognized by the numerous publications and participations in exhibitions such as the biennale of Young Greek Architects and the international Piranesi exhibition. At the same time they have a realistic approach and through close cooperation with the client and the consulting engineers, aim of the office is to maintain the quality of design and technology of architecture to a maximum.The many specializations of the office include: housing, hotels, education, offices, cinema/theatre, retail, interior design, public urban/green spaces, re-use/restoration etc. Many projects are situated in the Athens region, but work is done all over Greece and abroad. Project responsibility includes both design and supervision, and can lead from the initial concept, through obtaining the building permit, to the possibility to organize the complete construction process.

Having built up a varied portfolio, covering wide scales and types such as: Casino in Syros (Casino Aigaio AE), Leto Gynecology & Surgical clinic (Hygeia Group) and several branches of National Bank of Greece, Vasilis Grigoriadis (civil engineer) starts his collaboration with George Venetsanos (architect) focusing on the design and construction of a series of private projects.

Having a common academic background, Nikos Kouzoupis (architect) and Constantinos Orestis Despotis (3D Visualisations Expert), George Venetsanos’

fellow students at the University of Kent Canterbury School of Architecture, joined the team forming Division Architects.Each project is primarily treated as a pretext for creation and dialogue, causing “divisions”, generating solutions that combine and serve its programmatic content. Thus, a building is divided into blocks, forms, spaces, elements, uses, is deconstructed and eventually reunited, combining all the individual components to end up with a single result of solid and compact architecture.

So Division as in disintegration, deconstruction, differentiation, all concepts which enclose within genesis through intense and conflicting actions that lead to creation.

Today it has expanded into a wide-member team which consists of architects, CAD - operators, graphic designers, specialized collaborators and administrative personnel, providing full service of research, supervision and consulting, in the whole spectrum and in all scales of the architectural and city-planning projects. The studio operation has also expanded abroad, incorporating projects of different typologies in various geographical locations.

Combining the pursuit of theoretical and architectural design issues with the ability to implement studies on large-scale or complex projects, “Potiropoulos D+L Architects” studio is counted amongst the successful and well-organized architectural firms. Its activities include projects

Kalos&Klio (Christos Κalos, Klio Tantalidou) are two artists who work together as a collaborative duo. The pair lives and works in Thessaloniki, Greece. Klio studied painting at the Hanze University, Groningen, NL printmaking, at the Governors’ State University, Chi-cago IL, USA and holds an MFA in Digital art from the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL USA. Christos Kalos studied Photography at ESP school of Photography, Thessalon-iki, Greece. The pair has participat-ed in many solo and group exhibi-tions in Greece and abroad. In 2011 a new book, has just been released by IANOS publications written by Professor of Art History & Culture Theory at the Technical University of Crete, Thanasis Moutsopoulos ‘Kalos&Klio’, A user’s guide for the digital world and global trash.

He studied ‘Visual & Live Art’ in Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education, England, from 1995 to 1998. He’s working in his own studio in Thessaloniki since 2000. Functional and decorative stoneware ceramics are his main production, until now. During the last decade, he showed his work in five solo exhibitions in Greece,

while he participated in many group exhibitions, projects and symposiums around Greece and other European countries. At the same time he taught ceramics in different Art Schools in northern Greece, and through seminars in major museums of Thessaloniki. In 2010 he established an experimental ceramics studio in the region of Imathia, Greece.

From the very beginning of his professional path he became a close collaborator of big advertising companies, editorial houses and magazines.

At an early date his photographs began getting published in numerous Greek magazines, including several covers. On the international front his work also began appearing in various printouts abroad such as the Wallpaper, the Architectural Digest, the Andrew Martin-Interior Design Review, Taschen, J.J magazine and many others.

Vangelis’ photographs have also been figuring in the pages and covers of books of both Greek and Foreign publications. These books range from architectural guides to decoration as well as cook books.Vangelis’ main professional activity revolves around photo shoots of hotel spaces in Greece, on the mainland as well as on the islands. Some of his clients are, Hiltons Hotels, Aman Resort, Sofitel....

Nonetheless, Vangelis also extends his portfolio to photo shoots of Food and Travel.

In the same way that Vangelis’ travels to Cuba and Japan became his source of inspiration and reason for his first personal painting in photography exhibition titled “Virtual World” in November 2006, the familiar images of people in motion portrayed in photographs taken then led him to his first personal photograph exhibition entitled “Shadows” in May 2008.

Besides his two personal exhibitions, in July 2007 Vangelis also participated in an ensemble exhibition on the island of Paros, purely focused on painting this time. Also, his work on images of foods entitled “fork D-tales” was presented at the Sani Resort hotel in Chalkidiki, Greece at the Annual Gastronomy Festival of May 2008 and recently, in December 2008, he was chosen among several Greek photographers to participate in the exhibition “Spira” organized by Flocafe S.A Greece. And in 2010 his second personal photograph exhibition “Shadow life” was held at the Met Hotel in Thessaloniki.

Eleni Georgiades was born in Athens in 1957. She studied Landscape Architecture at the Athenaeum Architecture School in Lausanne and graduated in 1981.

In 2006 she received the CPM Award for Academic Excellence in Research

from the School of Cultural Policy and Management, City University, London. From 1999 till 2009, she collaborated with the Greek photo library Apeiron, as a curator of photography exhibitions and a consultant for book publications, comminication and events organising. In 2009 she directed ReMap 2: a contemporary art project parallel to the 2nd Athens Biennale. She has been director of Brainlab and Green Design Festival since its inception.

Her education in the visual arts has been enhanced by her spending 2 years as a painter and by her participation in various workshops in the broader arts’ field ( human anatomy course, sculptural casting methods’ course, etc...). She has a strong interest in eco-farming methods, landscape regeneration techniques and a passion for garden design. Her Msc studies in Energy & Environment have substantially influenced her “holistic” design approach in architecture.

Eva Kekou 是一位艺术和文化理论家，有着文学、文化研究和艺术历史等多学科的教育背景。同时她还在艺术大学取得了互动和场所知觉媒体方向的博士学位。

她为一些重要的学术期刊担任编辑，且其作品在许多大型的国际研讨会议上被展出，如国际电子艺术研讨会、澳大利亚媒体艺术史会、Amber（琥珀） 研讨会、加拿大精密技术会议。她还发表了大量的文章，且是全球数字与电子艺术方面的国际撰稿人。在过去的两年里她协同负责了E mobil艺术工作坊的管理工作，这家工作坊是欧洲艺术家们最大的国际合作伙伴之一。去年，她负责策划了场所知觉媒体工作坊的Urban Digital narratives展览会，同时还举办了一场有关艺术、科学和技术的研讨会。

Eva Kekou is an art and cultural theorist. She has a multidisci-plinary academic background ( literature,cultural studies,art his-tory) and hold a PhD in interactive and locative media from University of the Arts.

She has worked as an editor at ma-jor academic journals and her work is presented at big international conferences ( International sym-posium of Electronic art, media art histories Australia, Amber confer-ence, subtle technologies canada ) and she has also published a big number of articles.She also works as an international correspond-ent for digital and electronic art worldwide and has co-curated the workshop E mobil art which was one of the biggest international collaborations of artists in Europe in the last two years. She curated last year the locative media work-shop Urban Digital narratives and she organized a conference on art,

science and technology She is also the curator of Upgrade: art , science and technology event initiated in New york by Yael Kanarek

She has worked for galleries in London as curator and also curated a number of exhibitions at Ars Electronica.

She now works on a number of electronic and interactive media projects together with reputable artists.
