In the UK, sales of Fairtrade products in 2012 reached £1.5 billion – an 18 per cent increase on the previous year
78 per cent of consumers recognise the FAIRTRADE Mark
One in every three bananas sold in the UK is Fairtrade

He now sells to a fair trade company called Agrocel who give him a fair price , interest free credit and advice
Before he sold to a middle man and he did’nt get fair prices and had to pay interest on loans
Benefits- He has money for medicine and education for his family.
Joyce is a member of Kasinthula Cane Growers Ltd in Malawi, which supplies Traidcraft with sugar.
Its sugar became Fairtrade certified in 2003 and they have received significant fair trade orders.
Her and her family will have electricity for the first time thanks to the fair trade programme
The Fairtrade premium is helping farmers to install boreholes in their villages, which have relied on contaminated water supplies from the crocodile-infested Shire River. It has also enabled farmers to prepare for recent food shortages and continue to feed their families.
