Your itineraryDay 1: Board your overnight flight to London!

Day 2: London

Arrive in LondonRanging from the North Sea in the east to the playing fields of Eton inthe west, London covers an area of some 620 square miles and ishome to over 8 million people. Prepare to observe the stunningarchitecture, vibrant street life and royal majesty of this bustlingmetropolis.

Visit the Houses of Parliament (time permitting)You will have the day to visit the most recognized symbol of London,the Parliament Buildings. The original structure was destroyed in a firein 1834 and today's building and Big Ben date back to 1840.Hearings run throughout the day and you can choose to visit anyopen to the public. (Please note this visit is only available Saturdays,and is pending confirmation.)

Fish and chips dinnerTonight you will dine on one of England's most famous meals.Originally made popular in the 19th century by Dickens' reference to a“fried fish warehouse” in Oliver Twist, the first fish and chips dinnerswere served with bread and butter and a cup of tea, all for just ninepence.

Thames River CruiseEnjoy viewing the famous sights of London by cruising down the RiverThames. Walking tour of LondonStroll through the heart of London on your Tour Director-led walkingtour, which begins along the banks of the River Thames. As you walkalong the ancient embankment, note that these shadowy waters gavethe city its name, which derives from Llyn-Dyn, Celtic for “city of thelake.” Walk along the Strand and see the spot from which alldistances to London are measured. Enter Trafalgar Square, whereyou're sure to meet the world's most famous pigeons, and pause atNelson's column, a symbol of Britain's once unrivaled naval power.Continue on to Leicester Square and end your walk at chic CoventGarden, where street performers (or “buskers”) amuse the livelycrowds. Guided Tech City walking tourThis afternoon you will explore London's Tech City to look at how andwhy such a small area of London is beginning to rival Silicon Valleyand why it has become crucial to the UK's post-recession recover.

Fly to BerlinArrive in historic Berlin, once again the German capital. For manyyears the city was defined by the wall that separated its residents. Inthe last decade, since the monumental events that ended Communistrule in the East, Berlin has once again emerged as a treasure of artsand architecture with a vibrant heart.

Dinner is included this evening.

Day 6: Berlin

Guided sightseeing of BerlinRide past the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche (left unrestored as areminder of the ravages of war) and down the glitteryKurfürstendamm, Berlin's liveliest street. Pass the RathausSchöneberg, where 1,500,000 West Berliners flocked to hearPresident Kennedy's famous “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech in 1963. Onyour way to the Eastern sector, pass the Reichstag, former seat of theparliaments of the German Empire and the Weimar Republic. Arrive atthe Brandenburg Gate, once the symbol of the undeclared Cold War,and now the symbol of a reunited Berlin. It was at this gate that thefamous images of East and West Berliners dancing atop thecrumbling Berlin Wall were filmed and broadcast around the world. Asyou see where the Berlin Wall actually stood, imagine the bleakwatchtowers and piercing spotlights that guarded “the border” untilNovember 1989. Journey down Unter den Linden, once consideredone of the world's most elegant boulevards. You will also see the siteof Checkpoint Charlie, which once guarded the border between Eastand West Germany.

Visit the Topography of Terror MuseumThe Topography of Terror Museum is located on the site of the formerSS headquarters in Berlin. The outdoor exhibit in the former basementcells focuses on the regime's systemized rule of terror, and the fate ofsome of the individuals who were imprisoned and tortured in thesedungeons. A general documentation outlines the Nazi's rise to powerand their administrative center in Berlin.

Visit a local businessBerlin's outstanding infrastructure and highly qualified and educatedworkforce make it a competitive location for business. Today you willvisit a local business. During your time in Berlin, these business visitsmay include a finance or accounting firm (similar to Econa), anengineering company (similar to Siemens), or a company in thehealthcare field (similar to Bayer HealthCare and Bausch+Lomb).(Additional details to be provided closer to departure.)

Visit the ReichstagTonight, visit the German parliamentary building. A fire destroyedmuch of the building in 1933. The cause of the fire is to this dayunknown, however, because the communists were blamed, the Naziparty gained more popularity and soon after gained power. Thereconstruction was finished in 1999 and it is now open to the public.(Pending availability.)

Alternative Berlin guided walking tourMake like a hip local on this anthropological adventure. Take inBerlin's underground artist communities, vibrant multiculturalneighborhoods and more off-the-beaten-path sights.

Visit the BMW Motorcycle PlantToday you will explore the inner-workings of the German automobileindustry as you visit the birthplace of BMW motorcycles. Here you cansee a first-hand account of cutting edge mechanical engineering andlearn how BMW has solidified itself as one of the most recognizednames in the world of luxury vehicle manufacturing.

Free afternoon in BerlinThe remainder of the afternoon is yours to make some newdiscoveries of your own in Germany's capital. Near Alexanderplatz,you may visit the TV Tower and observation deck, where visitors havebeen taking in the ever-changing panorama of Berlin since 1969.Alternatively, you might choose to learn more about the history of theHolocaust at the Jewish Museum or visit one of the many museums inthe city.
