Current Problems
The catchment area of MMO River System has numerous settlements and industries, most of which discharge their untreatedwastewater into the river.
Chromium, lead and cadmium which areconsidered as toxic substances were detected in water samples.
High levels of domestic sewage contamination was also detected.

Stakeholders Participation in Boundary Setting
Points of consideration in boundary setting based from Stakeholders’ Responses:
Exclusion of Caloocan and Valenzuela (NCR) could result to failure in the implementation of Action Plans due to their pollution load contribution to the river system.
Inclusion of Caloocan and Valenzuelacould result to issues relating to “manageability” and inter-agency/ institution working relationships.
Consensus Among the Key Stakeholders
Valenzuela and Caloocan should be included in the proposed WQMA.
City of Caloocan to be represented by LLDA.
