[ 1 0 1 P R O J E C T ] P A I N T S W A T C H I N S T A L L A T I O N For the 101 installation Project we were instructed to obtain 100 or more of a single object plus a single connecting element. We were to construct an installation piece then house it within the DAAP building so to interact with the space and its occupants. I chose paint swatches as my 100 objects and fishing line as the connecting element. By stringing together compelmentary color swatches, a dramatic color palette was created. By housing the installation piece in a main DAAP doorway, I not only ensured that a maximum amount of occupants experienced it, but that the installation recieved a large amount of air movement, creating the intended spinning effect of each individual set of swatches.
[ D A A P C O U R T Y A R D D E S I G N ]Located on the South face of the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP buiding is a courtyard that currently serves no function. We were assigned to redesign this neglected courtyard
space to better service the needs of our fellow DAAP students. I created a series of stepping platforms that alignes with the mullion system of the surrounding DAAP buildings.
[ S C R E E N I N S T A L L A T I O N ]As a studio we were assigned to design a screen that acted as a critique pin-up space. We began with a 90 degree grid which we overlaid with diagonal grid resulting in the triangular box placement. We used a push-pull affect on the inside of the screen to
reflect the movement of the surounding DAAP walls. The color palette of the screen was chosen to mimic the DAAP interior surfaces. The opposite face of the screen was made into
a pin-up wall with organized padded panels.
[ C L I F T O N L I T E R A R Y C E N T E R ]The concept of the Clifton Literary Center was to reflect the branching of a tree through the placement and elevation of masses. I established 6 masses on the site
which expanded from a central courtyard, all of which oriented to mimic the shape of the Clifton site. From there I segragated private versus public spaces based off ground
level or second story elevation.

Provided a raw space in downtown Cincinnati, we were instructed to design this space to suit the needs of a provided client and the building contractor. The concept of the loft was to create a funelling affect within the space which was translated through the partition placement as well as cieling height changes. The height differencial creates a distinct segragation between public and private space.

For a company of our choosing, we were assigned to design a new office space. I chose Cosmopolitan Magazine as my client and located their office redesign in the Hearst tower in New York City. Appropriately I designed the office to be modern, the space is very orthagonal with 45 degree angles throughout which reflect the angled exterior shell of the tower. For Cosmoplitain’s feminine touch I designed Victorian insired office furniture which plays freely within the space through the bright color palette.

[ H I S T O R I C A L C H U R C H P R E S E R V A T I O N ] As part of our historical preservation studio we were put in contact with a client who is attempting to convert the 150 year old cGerman Reform Church into a rockin’ music venue. The church is located on Freeman Ave. in Over-the-Rhine. Following historical preseration standards we had to renovate/design the space using minimally intrusive design methods. As a team we designed a budget concious space that was fully adjustable to the clients wants and needs.
