ALICE BAND I chose to use an Alice band as the staring point of my mask as it id designed to fit to any head, this meant that I did not have to measure the size of the head I was creating the mask for. It is also strong although not strong enough to hold the entire mask, to over come this problem I wrapped the Alice band in brown material and wool, this thickened the band while also keeping with the base colour of the character.

DIFFERENT COLOURED FELT I used felt as a coving for the nose bridge, as the template for the hair to be sown onto and as the nose and tusks. The reason I picked felt was because it is a very versatile material and it comes in a variety of different colours. It is also not prone to fraying making its usability high without it wearing out.

BLACK FUR-LIKE MATERIAL.I used the black fur-like material as the Mohawk, I came in long thick clumps of it, I cut it short and thinned it out a little bt, I had to keep it quite think as it needed to be held on with stitching. I over lapped the layers when stitching to give the effect of more hair and more volume without actually using more hair. I also over lapped them as a way to hide the stitching, giving the whole Mohawk a more professional and tidy finish.

PAPIER MACHE The use of papier mache was simple structural, I used it to create the nose bridge, that I later covered in felt. I needed a structurally sound way of holding the nose and tusks onto the bottom of the face, creating layers of paper, held on my glue was a the best was of achieving this.
