Concept

“Design is motion” – is a concept that came about meand my love for dance. I started learning ballet whenI was five. My body has been an instrument in whichi learn how to express feelings and thoughts through the motion of movement. I transferred this ideainto my designs. Like Mark Hansen said “you set inmotion the process of becoming the person you mostwant to be.” Through my portfolio I set in motionthe process of my projects.

I consider that in the process of learning there isalways something new to learn. Just like dancing orlearning instruments. The more you practice, thebetter you get at it. The better you get, the more you learn that there are even more things you can do. More possibilities become available to use.Design is an instrument that expresses who I am, and it only keeps growing.

Project _ Noise Pollution Awareness Conference

Assignment _ Work on developing an experimental way of presenting the problem at hand, awareness of Noise pollution, at a conference. This will include a book, a mailer, and a poster that will be advertising the conference around the city of San Francisco.

Approach _ The Concept is awareness towards Noise Pollution. With the modern world so dependent of noise-producing and noise-related technology, such as automobiles, aircrafts, motorcycles and others. The ambient noise is rapidly accelerating. This growth has led to research examining the evidence that strongly suggest noise is hazardous to good mental and physical health.

Project _ Outta Sight Parking System

Assignment _ Design a fictional brand. Design applications based on the needs of the brand. Also create a brand guideline to ensure that the brand uniquity is followed.

Approach _ Outta Sight is a unique underground parking system, created for the purpose of increasing the amount of space there is for parking. It is said that 45% of the traffic congestion is due to cars circling the streets looking for the right parking spot. Outta Sight makes it faster, free and available to everyone that has a car.

Project _ Evolutionary / Revolutionary Rum

Assignment _ Design an Evolutionary and Revolutionary Liquor for an existing brand. For this project I choseFlor de Caña made by Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua.

Approach _ Flor de Caña is one of the leading brands of Rum in Central America. This Rum has reached the United States,but is not as popular as it is in Central America. My objective for the evolutionary design is to bring a new solution to the original product, and for the Revolutionary design is to give Flor de Caña a unique fresh new look.

Assignment _ Create a brand new identity for Brie de Montereau, and provide different packaging applications that will apply for the functionality of the brand.

Approach _ Brie de Montereau is one of the most well known cheeses of France. Rich in nutrition and protein. It is soft,aromatic,and brings to your table a special taste. It’s also a good mix with wine. My objective is to provide Brie with a more unique and recognizable brand that will stand up in the market. Montereau has a very homey feeling to it. A type of cheese you will want to enjoy with your family and friends.

Project _ Crossroads Book Publisher

Assignment _ Create a brand for a fictional bookstore based in classic novels. The project consists on having three book covers and the brands signature.

Approach _ The name of the bookstore I created is called crossroads. The three featured classic novels for this project are: Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, and to kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The Objective is to connect the covers with the concept of the publisher. Having in mind that this are stories I read when growing up. The Challenge is to portrait the main idea of the stories, in the covers.

Project _ Chrome Skin Care

Assignment _ Create a new line of Skin Care products and an in-store display. The challenge for this project is to expand an existing brand that is currently not in the skincare market.

Approach _ Chrome is known for it’s long lasting utility. Their work has a purpose, to keep their clients satisfied. My objective is to create a brand new skincare line for Chrome by keeping it’s brand uniquity, as well as to help strenghthen the brand with a new product that will not only provide a nice collection but will also be helpful and adequate for those who are already part or that will be part of the chrome community.

Project _ Tour Book for Oh land

Assignment _ Create a tour book promoting the artists new upcoming work. This project also includes a websitewith Oh Lands upcoming tours.

Approach _ Oh land, she’s a new upcoming artist from Copenhagen. Her works are so futurusitic and colorful that I got inspired on shapes and colors to show her personality and versatility. Her music is composed of different elements, different sounds made by her and others are created by an electronic device that helps produce different sounds. She also has a background in dancing which brings her experimental side more.
