She used he r s k i l l s i n d ressmak ing and management to earn the respect and leadersh ip o f o the r s i n he r s ta t ion, qu ick l y becoming second in command, a l l wh i le be ing a mothe r. Th i s p iece uses mate r ia l s and g raph ic dev ices i n sp i red by the t ime and Nancy ’ s p ro fess ion, to re f lec t a spec i f ic theme to the reader. Botanical Luxe Botan ica l Luxe i s a p r i n ted and embe l l i shed fash ion co l lect ion in f l uenced by both opu lence and max ima l i sm. The co l lect ion was deve loped w i th the a im o f rev iv ing the impor tance o f fo re ign botan ica l s w i th in the wor ld ’ s t rop ica l ecosys tems and ce lebrat ing the i r ex i s tence. A f te r d i scover ing how qu ick l y these botan ica l spec ies a re becoming endangered, I rea l l y wanted to c reate a co l lect ion wh ich wou ld emphas i se and d raw at ten t ion to these spec i f ic p lan t spec ies. The co l lect ion was c reated by combin ing co l lage, d raw ings and photograph ic imager y w i th bo ld co lou r s, and f rom th i s, b rave des igns we re c reated and then deve loped in to fash ion garment s and accesso r ies.
