City of Lahti: Environment and nature


Area✴Total surface area 154.5 km²✴Land surface area 134.9 km²✴Water area 19.6 km²

The city is split by an east-to-west ridge which is a formation area of plentiful groundwater.

Lake Vesijärvi is connected to lake Päijänne, one of the Finland`s largest lakes.

Forest can be reached from every part of the city.
