AimsAims

1. Use experience based enquiry to articulate theinfluence of the built hospital environment on inter-professional interaction.

2. To conceptualise and articulate the causal linksbetween inter-professional collaboration and clinicalrisk and space.

3. To use experienced based enquiry for participant ledredesign of work practices to enhance patient safetywithin the context of the built environment.

MethodsMethods

a) Set the scenea) Set the scene

Collaborate with heath care professionals, architects, policymakers, managers, and consumers in focus groups, interviews, and observational techniques to define thecontext and processes involved in the design of healthfacilities.

b) Inform the processb) Inform the process

Using experienced based inquiry, video ethnography, articulatelocal knowledge regarding the interface of inter-professionalinteraction, the built environment, and clinical risk.

OutcomesOutcomes

1. Articulate the needs of end users.

2. Conceptualise contemporary health facility design processes.

3. Raise an awareness about designing for adaptive organisationalsystems.

4. Build collaborative communities of design & practice.
