2500 units of low-rise housing units are created in two penisulas located in the easter end of the amsterdam docks. surrounded by the site are docks, warehouses and open water.

each house has an indoor garage and 30-50% interior void to create terraces and patios which takes full effect of the presence of mid-open water.

plot owners interact with architects directly influencing the outcome, creating individuality in each house.

some houses are provided with docks to promote the prominence of the city’s canals

colors represent the commerical shops, school, insitution, restuarants, commercial offices, yacht club, sportscenter, and residential.

these homes are coded to show the different programs.

hudson square analysis

an area of new york city that lies along the westside highway, wedged in the middle of canal street, 6th avenue and houston street.

some of the issues regarding the site include traffic congestion around the holland tunnel, a lack of green space and an absense of pedestrians and residents
