Lake Nona is also home to the 650 acre health and life sciences park known as Medical City at Lake Nona which is a landmark for Orlando and a premier location for medical care, research, and education. Carefully planned and designed, Medical City at Lake Nona represents a deliberate strategy to create a centralized focus of sophisticated medical treatment, research, and education in Central Florida. Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer is building a new 857,470 square foot fulfillment center in Lake Nona that will open in 2018 that will house 2.33 million square feet of storage area, creating 1,500 full-time jobs.

Just to the north of this site is the Lake Nona Education Village, currently home to Valencia College and Lake Nona High with plans for approximately 700 new multifamily units. Adjacent to that is Lake Nona Landings, a 760,000 square foot open-air shopping center anchored by Walmart, Sam’s Club and Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Directly across the street to the east is the Eagle Creek Golf Community, a master-planned community designed with 3,000 residential units surrounding a championship 18-hole golf course. This community also includes plans for 150,000 square feet of retail, 50,000 square feet of office, a 150 unit hotel and a recently opened elementary school.

Just 4 miles to the north is the Orlando International Airport, which achieved a record 38.8 million travelers in 2015 and is currently undergoing a $1.1 Billion expansion to double it’s capacity to 70 million travelers by 2019.
