First Generation

1. John Sinclair was born about 1762 in Orkney Scottish Islands Scotland.

Research Notes: John on the 1821 Census Lisa Conrad has transcribed the 1821 Census with the following information: John was a farmer living at 186 Kirkhouse with his wife Ann Guthrie and his family. They had 4sons that are known of, John aged 31 a fisherman, who later married Barbara Cromarty, Williamaged 20 a carpenter, whom I can find no trace of after this date. Peter aged 29 , also a carpenter latermarried Sinclair Anderson and James aged 17, who later married Isabella Anderson, who was thesister of Sinclair Anderson. They also had a daughter Ann living with them at this time, whom I canfind no trace of after 1841.Unfortunately I can find no record of the marriage of John and Ann, nor the deaths, nor the births ofany of their children.
