Dear Members,

I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend! Here we are at the end of

another busy season for most. It is not the end for our Oktoberfest

Chairman Steve Eichner & Tom Isham they are getting into high gear

making all the preparations for another great Oktoberfest. Sign up

now before all the good jobs are gone.

I want to thank all our Volunteers for all you do for your club all year

round. With out you there would be no Club .

Starting Friday, May 17th our regular Friday night dance will be held

in the Edelweiss Hall.

Ich hoffe, ihr hattet alle ein schönes Osterfest. Wir sind am Ende einer

ereignisreichen Saison angekommen, Es ist noch nicht vorbei für

unsere Oktoberfest Chairmen Steve Eichner und Tom Isham. Für sie

fängt es erst richtig an um alles für das nächste Oktoberfest

vorzubereiten. Tragt euch ein als freiwillige Helfer, bevor die besten

Jobs vergeben sind.

Ich möchte allen freiwilligen Helfern danken, für ihren Einsatz für den

Club, ohne euch würden wir keinen Club haben.

Ab dem 17.5.2019, findet unser regulärer Freitag Abend in der

Edelweiß Halle statt.

GERMAN AMERICAN SOCIAL CLUB

POLICY STATEMENT

The purpose of the German American Social Club of Cape Coral according to its Bylaws is “to promote good fellowship

(Gemütlichkeit) and provide its members with the opportunity for group enjoyment of activities based on songs and traditional

celebrations of German social life. GASC is open to all persons without regard to race, creed, culture or ethnic background. Any

discrimination, racial coments, bigoted remarks by members or guest, theft, and want on detruction to club assets will not be

accepted or tolerated! Members are expected to adhere to this policy of respect towards other members and the club itself both

inside Club property as well as in any public forum, including online forums hosted by and representing the Club. Failure to

abide by this policy will result in disciplinary action stated in section VIII, F 5* of the GASC Bylaws.

Beautification

O n March 31 we had our annual beautification picnic. With good food prepared by our

famous chefs Steve Eichner, Tom Isham, Ed Freund and I helped a little, we had some nice

hours in the Bavarian Garden. The bar committee provided the drinks and the GALS, especially

invited, prepared coffee and cake. Many thanks. This is always a welcome event, to say a big

thanks to all members of the beautification team. Not just working together but enjoying some

nice hours together, talking, eating , drinking, having fun.

I know, there are quit a lot of people at the club, who don’t recognize all the work we do and

therefor don’t appreciate it. But a lot do and that’s what keeps us going and doing. Thanks

again.

A m 31. März hatten wir unser jährliches Beautification Picnic. Bei gutem Essen, gekocht von

unseren “Chefs” Steve Eichner, Tom Isham, Ed Freund und ein bisschen von mir, konnten

wir ein paar gemütliche Stunden im Bayrischen Garten bei strahlendem Sonnenschein verbrin-

gen. Das Barkommittee versorgte uns wie üblich mit Getränken und die GALS, extra eingeladen

deswegen, verwöhnten uns mit Kaffee und Kuchen. Vielen Dank dafür. Das Picnic ist immer eine

willkommene Gelegenheit, den Mitgliedern des Beautification Teams danke zu sagen. Nicht nur

zusammen arbeiten, nein auch Spaß bei gutem Essen, Getränken und netten

Gesprächen zu haben muss sein.

Auch wenn ich glaube, dass es doch genügend Mitglieder im Club gibt, die unsere viele Arbeit

nicht erkennen und daher auch nicht so richtig wertschätzen können. Aber viele

sehen und verstehen was wir tun und das gibt uns Ansporn, weiterzumachen.

GASC Schützenverein of Cape Coral

Schützen News

The summer is almost here. Some of our members may have gone away and we wish them a

safe trip. We have been getting very good scores. Some members have their own gun and the

club has a new target gun that is performing very well. Thanks to GASC for the target gun.

Hope to see everyone at our Sunday practices until we break for the summer. Have a great

summer and see you at the range.

Greetings From the Bar Committee,

I know it’s several months out from Oktoberfest but we are looking for volunteers. This request

is mainly for club members who are looking for specific days, shifts and/or stations and who

may not have a computer to sign up online. My hope is that by starting early we are able to be

fully staffed earlier and that our club volunteers are able to get the shifts they want. If you are

in town during the summer and you see Myself, Harry Reifschneider or Steve Bauer and you

want to volunteer, please let one of us know. If you want to contact me or Harry by phone my

number is 239-565-6964, Harry’s number is 239-785-6662. If we don't answer please leave a

message and we will get you on the schedule.

I want to wish everyone a safe and healthy Summer!

We have reached the end of another season for our GALS group. As always, we will be here at

the club on Wednesday mornings to craft and enjoy each other's company during the summer

months. The difference is we do not have official meetings and reports again until September.

For all the members who have left us for the summer, stay safe. We expect to see you back here

very soon.

I want to thank everyone that helped when needed. I do appreciate it very much.
