On this occasion our faculty Mr. Rakshith N felicitated for guiding a project Titled Design and fabrication of coin operated porta- ble water vending machineThis project was adjudged as one of the outstanding projects of the year and was se- lected for the Project of the yearfrom Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology. 4 As it is a tradition in our Department to cele- brate Ayudha Pooja Festival , this year we cel- ebrated it on 28 th September 2017. During the occasion Final year students and Facul- ties of the department have felicitated our honourable Principal Dr. L Basavaraju for his constant encouragement and support to our department over the years. The event took place on 27 th and 28 th of December 2017. Students team involved Md. Umar Shariff, Syed Mada- ni, Syed Ikhtair Kashif and Siftain Khan. They presented a paper on topic Computer Numerically Controlled Multi Operational Machine”. Best Paper award @ ETME-17 . In order to mark 75 th anniversary of Quit India Movement, the students and staff of the department took a New India Pledge on 8 th august 2017. The students & Staff took a pledge to build a new India by 2022, a corruption free India, a poverty free India, a Clean India, a casteism free India, a communalism free India, a terrorism free India & a poverty free India. Teachers Day and Engineers Day Celebration

On 26th September 2017, Teachers day and Engineers day

celebration was organised at our College. On this occasion

our faculty Mr. Rakshith N felicitated for guiding a project

Titled “Design and fabrication of coin operated porta-

ble water vending machine” This project was adjudged

as one of the outstanding projects of the year and was se-

lected for the “Project of the year” from Karnataka State

Council for Science & Technology.

As it is a tradition in our Department to cele-

brate Ayudha Pooja Festival, this year we cel-

ebrated it on 28th September 2017. During

the occasion Final year students and Facul-

ties of the department have felicitated our

honourable Principal Dr. L Basavaraju for his

constant encouragement and support to our

Students from our department have presented a Technical Paper in

Technical Talks conducted

“Knowledge Enrichment Program”

Department has organised a technical talk on

“Knowledge Enrichment Program” to 2nd and

3rd year students on 23rd August 2017.

Mr. B R Ram, National Head, CADD Centre

addressed students and spoke on various

advanced Design and Analysis Software's, its

importance in present job market and industry

ready concepts. The students were got valua-

ble insights about the various CAD tools which

will be used in industries for its design, tooling, automation & other related activities.

Dr. Rathnakar G, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering, Mrs. Chaitra, Head, CADD Centre,

Mysuru were presided over the event.

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with GTTC, Mysuru has organised a guest lecture on

“Opportunities available at GTTC” to create awareness on various training courses available for engi-

neering students in the field of Laser, CAD, CAM and CAE at GTTC, Mysuru on 07th September 2017.

Mr. Prakash K L, Deputy General Manager, GTTC,

Mysuru and Mr. Ramesha N, Principal, Skill Centre,

GTTC, Mysuru were the Chief Guests for the Lecture.

Mr. Prakash K L briefed about the various technolog-

ical advancements that GTTC has achieved over the

years and also given an insight of upcoming Centre

of Excellence at GTTC in association with SIEMENS.

Mr. Ramesha N spoke about Facilities available at

the centre and various courses that are conducted

by GTTC.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP

Students from Second year of our department have visited

TVS Motor Company Ltd, Kadakola on 28th October 2017. The

facility has a two wheeler manufacturing unit of various mod-

els like TVS Jupiter, TVS Apache, TVS XL Heavy Duty and TVS

Scooty.

The students got exposure to various manufacturing sections

like machining section, engine assembly, advanced painting

section using robots and mechanized assembly line.

Students from Department of Mechanical Engineering, have been deputed to GSSSIETW,

Mysuru to attend an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp conducted during September

21-23, 2017. The event was supported by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of

India, Ahmadabad, India and Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.

The main objective of the camp is to encourage students to be job creators and not job

seekers. The focus here was in the entrepreneurial mind-set, or the ability for students to

think and act in more creative, innovative, opportunistic and proactive ways. The work-

shop was open for third & final year students and more than 50 students from our

department took active participation and got a great exposure to different aspects of

Entrepreneurship.

Opportunities available @ GTTC

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Department of Mechanical Engineering, ATMECE, Mysuru has organized a Five day Faculty Development

Program on “An Overview on Design of Machine Elements II”, Mysuru during 16th – 20th January 2018.

The Program was intended to enhance the knowledge of Design of machine elements II, which will help

the faculties to be aware of various procedure used to solve the problems. The Experts across the states

form the domain are called to deliver the lecture and help the participants in understanding the design

procedures.

Industrial visit to Hindustan Springs Pvt ltd, Mysuru & Triveni Engineering and Industries ltd, Mysuru

was organized to bridge the gap between Academia and Industry to enhance practical knowledge of the

topics taught in Design of Machine Elements II.

FDP on “An Overview on Design of Machine Elements II”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, ATMECE has signed a

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with “Prolific Systems and

Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bangalore” in order to provide Training and

Placement for final year students on 13th November 2017.

The agreement was signed by Dr Basavaraj L, Principal

“ATMECE, Mysore” and Mr. R Anantharaman, Associate Director

“Prolific Systems and Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bangalore”. Prolific sys-

tems are also offering PGDAMS certificate for trained students.
