DEPARTMENT OF LAWS

Education in Law enables the citizens learning their rights and duties. A society enlightened by law can be most e�ective in shaping the nation and putting a check on abuses and misuses of laws. But however just the laws , they cannot be e�ective in delivering e�ective social justice unless they are put into action by professionals well versed and well instructed by law. Thus, there is need for legal education and degree.

This degree is centered on the needs of the students who intend to progress to the legal practice as well as enables students to pursue non-legal careers such as business, media and the public sector. Throughout the program students will develop detailed knowledge and understanding of legal rules and their contexts, as well as developing general skills such as independent research, team work and debating.

The basic building block of the degree is a course. Each course is worth 3 credits and an honors degree will be awarded to students who achieve 130 credits. Students will be studying all the core courses listed in the ‘Name of Courses’ and complete a dissertation and appear before a defense board. Students will have access to the universities mock court room, complete with dock, witness box and public gallery which will familiarizes them with the court room environment, explain the process and aid their presentation skills.

Admission RequirementsA total GPA of 5.50 with a GPA of at least 2.50 in both S.S.C. and H.S.C or equivalent.

Duration of the ProgramThe duration of the program will be 4 (four) academic years.

Graduation To obtain the Degree of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Honors) a student will have to complete minimum 130 Credit with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. If any student fails in any course he/she will get the opportunity to improve the grade by retaking the same in the subsequent Trimester.
