Achievements

1970’s: Establishment of Geological Museum and 1st X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) 1980’s: Department started using computers for solving numerical/logical problems in geology Late 1990’s: 1st fully equipped computer laboratory with LAN connection on Windows NT

platform and server was established 2011: e-Governance implementation lead to saving of paper cost by over Rs. 1 lakh 2013-14: Geology Department became the 1st department in North Campus to have interactive

whiteboards for teaching and presentation. The present Director of Geological Survey of India (GSI) is an alumni of our department Presently 6 Deputy Director Generals in GSI are alumni of our Department Started a AAPG student chapter for Delhi University in year 2013 An annual geological cultural festival “Conglomerate” started in year 2012 Antardhvani 2013 – bagged the 3rd prize for ‘Awards for Good Practices
