The Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

discipline today is multi-disciplinary in nature

representing a actual synergy of different technologies

ranging Micro-controllers, Digital Signal Processing

and VLSI etc.

To be one of the leading department globally in the

field of Electronics and Telecommunication

Engineering in terms of producing quality engineers

and researchers.

The department is well equipped with laboratories

covering all courses of the Electronics &

Telecommunication engineering.

Program outcomes (POs)

PO1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of

mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an

engineering specialization to the solution of complex

engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research

literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching

substantiated conclusions using first principles of

mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for

complex engineering problems and design system components

or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate

consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural,

societal, and environmental considerations. 7

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use

research-based knowledge and research methods including

design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data,

and synthesis of the information to provide valid

conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply

appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering

engineering activities with an understanding of the

limitations.

Virtual Lab Nodal Centre

IIT Bombay has designated Guru Nanak Institute of

Engineering and Technology, Nagpur as ‘Virtual Lab

Nodal Centre’ for Nagpur region. Under its aegis, the

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication

has conducted “Virtual Lab in-House faculty training

Program” on dated 23/10/2015 in association with

IIT Bombay.

It is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource &

Development under the National mission through ICT.

Aim and Objective of Virtual Lab

Setting up of virtual laboratories will help remotely

located areas reap the benefit of quality and relevant

education through ICT.

These laboratories shall provide a platform for the

students to conduct experiments in a virtual environment

and enhance their capabilities.

Virtual Labs will work in a complementary fashion to

NPTEL in the sense that they teach the student the basic

concepts, as well as trigger their imagination and

inquisitiveness.

Science and Engineering.

To cater to the students at the UG/PG level as well as to

research scholars.

To enable the students to learn at their own pace, and to

arouse their curiosity.

E-Yantra

E-Yantra is a project by IIT Bombay to spread

embedded systems and Robotics education in

engineering colleges across India. E-Yantra is

supported by MHRD through the National Mission

on Education through ICT (NMEICT). Dept. of ETC

is a member of E-Yantra.

Aim and objective:

1.To develop a basic understanding of “Firebird V” system

amongst teachers, as the first step to engagement with the e-

Yantra.

2.To make teachers familiar with Embedded C programming for

Robotics.

3.To set up Robotics labs and teach embedded systems to

students in an effective manner through e-Yantra Lab Setup

Aim and Objective:

1. Forum body installation.

2. Encourage students to participate and organize events for their

association, named “ENTRIX” and “ETEA”, on 24th
