Starting on May 1, 2013, new regional standards will require as a minimum, the installation of 90% High Efficiency Condensing Gas Furnaces, when replacing existing systems in “Northern States”, which includes Colorado. WHAT WILL HORIZON DO?

■ Cycle the dryer. This will allow us to:

■ Verify unit is operating.

■ Check for air flow and possible blockage(s).

■ Pull dryer out from wall.

■ Connect a vacuum with a HEPA filter to the interior vent.

■ Go outside and use an auger brush to clear out the entire vent with the vacuum running.

■ Back inside, we will then vacuum out the area around and behind the dryer. While back there we

may also rescue a few stray socks.

■ Inspect the dryer vent connector. (The tubing that connects your dryer to the vent.)

■ Reconnect everything and put the dryer back in place.

■ Remove the lint screen and wash, in your sink, with hot soapy water.

■ Use a lint brush to clean out the lint trap area inside the dryer while the lint screen is removed.

■ Cycle the dryer one more time to make sure it is operating.
