Dental Seminar - Sun. May 20th, 12-30PM-5PM Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow. £130.00 ( free to those attending the WFH congress) The WFH dental committee of the World Federation of Haemophilia invite you to attend a pre-congress seminar entitled ‘Managing the dental care of children and adults with inherited bleeding disorders with confidence.” This seminar is suitable for all members of the interdisciplinary dental team and Internationally recognised leaders in the field will present current best practice and WFH guidance for dental care across the whole life-course from childhood through to older age. By the end of this seminar participants will understand more about the barriers to achieving good oral health for this unique group and be confident in how to work within the multidisciplinary team to risk assess and provide safe, effective dental care for people with a range of bleeding disorders. Speakers will address important issues such as transition of age, use of local and general anaesthesia, improving outcomes in gingival bleeding, managing bleeding related anxiety, and speakers from a number of specialities will outline a range of effective contemporary local measures to be used alongside systemic therapeutic approaches. There will be plenty of opportunity to share experiences and offers a great opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns and fears. For those with a special interest in this area we would encourage you to register for the whole conference - a unique opportunity to join other members of the comprehensive care team and learn more about advances in medial care and in depth exploration of psychosocial aspects and important determinant of quality of life. There will be four more dedicated dental sessions to enjoy alongside the packed inter-disciplinary fav programme.
