John Walker President and Chief Executive Officer FortisBC Inc., FortisBC Holdings Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities John Walker is the President and Chief Executive Officer of FortisBC Inc., FortisBC Holdings Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors of FortisAlberta Inc. John has worked with the Fortis group of companies since 1983, where he began his career with Newfoundland Power Inc. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Canadian Electricity Association, Western Energy Institute and Sauder Faculty Advisory Board, University of British Columbia. John has a Bachelor of Science, Honours and a Master of Business Administration degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Michele Leeners Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities Michele Leeners is the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of FortisBC Inc. She has held this role since June of 2005. Effective January 1, 2012, she was appointed Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the FortisBC Energy Utilities. Michele is a Chartered Accountant with over 21 years of experience in finance, treasury and taxation. From 1997 and prior to joining FortisBC Inc. in 2005, she held financial management positions in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. From 1989 to 1997, she worked with KPMG in various roles including auditing, finance, accounting and taxation in Calgary, Alberta.

Dennis Swanson Director, Regulatory Affairs FortisBC Inc. Dennis Swanson is FortisBC’s Director of Regulatory Affairs and is responsible for all FortisBC matters relating to the British Columbia Utilities Commission. Dennis joined FortisBC in 1997 and has held several management roles within the Company. Prior to becoming the Director of Regulatory Affairs, he has held the positions of Internal Auditor, Manager of Budgets and Forecasts, Manager of Corporate Reporting and Manager of Administrative Services. Prior to joining FortisBC, Dennis worked as a Controller in the forestry industry. Dennis completed a Financial Management Technology program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and is currently in the Certified Management Accounting Program. He has served on the Board of Directors of several not-for-profit organizations.

Jody Drope Chief Human Resources Officer FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities Jody Drope is the Chief Human Resources Officer for FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities. From 2008 to 2010 Jody held the position of Human Resources Manager for FortisBC Inc. From 1993 to 2008 Jody held several leadership roles in Human Resources for municipalities in the province of British Columbia. The majority of that time was as Human Resources Manager with the City of Kelowna. Jody has worked in the human resources profession since 1988 and her experience includes work in the post-secondary education, health care and provincial government sectors. Jody completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in industrial relations, general business and economics. Jody has been registered as a Certified Human Resources Professional with the BC Human Resources Management Association since 1997.

Larry E. Kennedy Vice President Gannett Fleming Canada ULC Larry E. Kennedy is a Vice President of Gannett Fleming Canada, ULC Larry joined Gannett Fleming in January 1999 and his responsibilities include the assembly of data, preparation and review of depreciation studies, advice to clients regarding asset retirement obligation accounting, plant accounting issues, and provision of general regulatory litigation support. Larry holds a diploma in Applied Arts – Business Administration from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and is a Certified Depreciation Professional and a member and past President of the Society of Depreciation Professionals. Larry has appeared as an expert witness before various regulatory boards including a 2011 appearance before the British Columbia Utilities Commission.

Cynthia Des Brisay Vice President, Energy Supply and Resource Development FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities. Cynthia Des Brisay is the Vice President of Energy Supply and Resource Development for FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities. Since joining FortisBC Energy Inc. in 1999, Cynthia has held a variety of positions including Vice President, Energy Supply & Gas Transmission; Vice President, Gas Supply and Transmission; Director, Business Development and Resource Planning; Director, Business Development; Business Leader, Project Development; and Manager, Project Development. In January 2011, Cynthia added her current responsibilities for FortisBC Inc. From 1992 through 1999, Cynthia held the positions of Manager, Project Development; International Development Manager; and Senior Project Analyst with Fletcher Challenge Energy in Vancouver and New Zealand. From 1982 to 1989 Cynthia held various engineering and commercial positions at Norcen Energy Resources Limited in Calgary. Cynthia completed her Bachelor of Applied Science, Engineering Chemistry degree at Queens University in 1982 and her Master of Business Administration degree at the University of British Columbia in 1992.

Mark Warren Director, Customer Service FortisBC Inc. Mark Warren is FortisBC’s Director, Customer Service. Mark leads the Company’s customer service functions and is responsible for meter reading, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Demand Side Management program development and delivery, contact center and customer billing. Since joining FortisBC in 2000, Mark has held a variety of positions including Manager of Asset Deployment and Manager of Transmission and Distribution Projects. Mark completed his Bachelor of Applied Science, Engineering Physics degree in 1990 at the University of British Columbia and his Master of Business Administration degree in 1998 at Queens University. Mark is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia.

Dan Egolf Manager, Resource Planning FortisBC Inc. Dan Egolf is FortisBC’s Manager of Resource Planning and leads the Power Supply and Load Forecast groups. Dan joined FortisBC in 1994 as part of the PowerSense group and in 1996 began with the Power Supply team, managing the Company’s Power Supply contracts and requirements. Since 2006 Dan has led the Power Supply group and since 2008 has been responsible for the Load and Customer Forecast. Dan completed his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at Washington State University in 1992.

Keith Veerman Manager, PowerSense Programs FortisBC Inc. Keith joined FortisBC in 1992. Prior to becoming the Manager, PowerSense Programs he held the positions of PowerSense Engineer, and Energy Management Co-ordinator (Kootenays). Keith was seconded to the British Columbia Ministry of Energy and Mines as Senior Policy Advisor (Energy Efficiency) from October 2005 to March 2007, returning to FortisBC as Manager, Energy Efficiency. Prior to joining FortisBC, Keith worked in a number of manufacturing companies as a process or project engineer. Keith completed his Bachelor of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, and is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia. He is a member of the Canadian Standards Association, and has served on the standards revision committees for air-source and geoexchange heat pumps.

Doyle Sam Vice-President, Engineering and Generation FortisBC Inc. and the FortisBC Energy Utilities Doyle Sam is the Vice President, Engineering and Generation of FortisBC Inc. Since joining FortisBC, Doyle has held a variety of positions including Vice President, Engineering and Operations and Vice President, Transmission and Distribution. Doyle has worked in the electrical utility industry since 1989 and for FortisBC since 2003. He has operated in a variety of engineering, planning, operations and senior management roles throughout his career. Doyle is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1989) from the University of Alberta and a Master of Business Administration degree (2000) from Queens University.

Paul Chernikhowsky Director, Engineering Services FortisBC Inc. Paul Chernikhowsky is an electrical engineer with over 15 years of experience in electric utility power systems planning, design and operations. As the Director, Engineering Services for FortisBC, he is responsible for the planning, engineering and execution for all transmission and distribution projects. In previous roles with the company, Paul was responsible for FortisBC’s overall system planning and prior to that for protection and control and telecommunications planning and design. Before joining FortisBC in 1999, Paul worked in the engineering consulting industry which provided services to the mining and utility sector in British Columbia. Paul has a Bachelor of Applied Science (1994) from the University of British Columbia and he is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia. Paul is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and represents FortisBC on a number of electric utility industry committees.
