Our gardens are becoming more and more important inour lives. The garden is the gateway to nature, an ex-tension of our living rooms and a source of relaxationand recovery. But what does a successful garden designlook like? There are many answers to this question. Our workshop`s philosophy gets its inspiration fromnature. We want to support your natural garden designusing our ceramics and to bring the natural charm ofour unique materials into your garden.

Our shapes and models have unique, artistic hand let-tering and adhere to bionic and natural principles. It'sup to you whether you have a modern or classic gar-den. Our products fit into your life, depending on thelocation and surroundings.

Create eye-catching islands in your garden. The naturalshapes and colours of our products appeal to some-thing deep within. At night, our lights bathe the gar-den in warm light and reveal a romantic world – bothsummer and winter.

Our fire ceramics combine fire and ceramics. They bringwarmth, light and fire into the garden. No other elementawakens our emotions like a crackling fire.

Animal protection is a major concern for us. Civilisationis forcing more and more animals out of their naturalhabitat. We hope that our animal protection products

will spur on your enthusiasm for animal protection andat the same time guarantee that our native animalshave somewhere to live.

Denk was established in 1964 by Franz Denk and hassince become a second-generation family company.When it comes to materials, we only use especiallyhigh quality clay from Germany that we fire in cleangas ovens at up to 1,330°C. Our particularly carefuland intricate production is the basic requirement forthe high quality of our garden ceramics and their 15-year guarantee.

All ceramic products in this catalogue are made in ourworkshops in Coburg. We are proud of our staff, all ofwhom are masters of their trade. We aim to offer simpleyet high quality products that are good value for moneyand that will keep their value over centuries.

Good to know

With CeraNatur®, CeraFlam® and CeraProTherm®,three ceramic developments from our workshops havebeen patent-protected as DENK brands.

CeraNatur® stands for unglazed and really naturalceramics. It`s pleasantly velvety and, at the same time,repels dirt. CeraNatur® is frost-proof, weatherproofand colour-fast. We offer a 15-year guarantee onmaterials. Our “steady shape“ garden furniture and ouranimal protection products are made from CeraNatur®.

CeraFlam® stands for our unique DENK fire ceramics.No other ceramic material has such exceptional quali-ties. Natural fire ceramic whose material compositionis the result of space research. CeraFlam® is resistantto heat and aging in the long term. Our braziers aremade from CeraFlam®.

CeraProTherm® is a further development of ourCeraFlam® ceramics. A really special ceramic has re-sulted from adding highly temperature-resistant mine-rals and special storage clays. CeraFlam® is extremelyresistant to fire and temperature changes. This ceramicis also able to store large quantities of heat. Its large-pore structure also makes the material extremely solidand robust. CeraProTherm® is a high-quality high-tech material with a hand-made look. Our chimineasare made from CeraProTherm®.

All of our products are very sturdy, withstand impactand are shock-proof. Glass is either safety glass or pro-tected by ceramic.

All lights have been tested and are EC certified.

For cleaning we recommend using soft soap or con-ventional household cleaners. A fine-pore dry sponge is sufficient for matt glazes and surface dirt. Braziersdo not need to be cleaned, because they burn themselvesclean.

Our glazes are made from coloured clay (engobes) thatturn into beautiful, natural, matt and shimmeringcolours when burned.

Our outside lights and our garden ceramics are wellequipped for the outdoor life and will last for decadesin the house or garden.

The story of a patented inventionWe have been working on developing a wax-poweredgarden lantern for years. The problem always is that highquality ceramics don´t make any sense if the customercan´t refill with fuel, i.e. wax, simply and cheaply.

On the other hand, every household gathers wax remainsand candle stumps that are normally thrown away.

This is where our invention comes in. All candle remainscollected can be easily reused using the wax burner.You simply have to place them in the wax burner andold candles become new light. The wax burner is envi-ronmentally friendly, simple and economical to use.

The wax burner is a long-burning garden lantern whoselight can´t be blown out even by strong winds. Theycan be safely used outside and give off a very beauti-ful, soft light.

The wax burner has a permanent fibre glass wick andcomes ready filled with 1kg wax. It can burn for 48hours.

Candle recyclingIt´s really exciting for the customer: The DENK waxburner is the perfect device for recycling all candleremains.

The principle is simple.Old candles, stumps and wax remains are simply placedat the side in the wax burner. The wax is melted bythe burner and becomes fuel again.

Wicks do not have to be removed.They sink to the base of the brazier where they can´tcatch fire. They don´t need to be cleaned up either.

Denk animal protection products made from CeraNatur® ceramics. The ceramics are verystable, durably frost-proof and mould-proof. They store up heat during the day and radiateit over night. We give a 15-year guarantee on materials.

Titmice nesting houseWe love titmice, because they spend all year with us andthey stay in the same place, as long as we provide themwith safe places to nest and feed them during the winter.During the rest of the year they eat insects in our gardensand delight us with their chirruping and trustfulness. The secure, heavy roof of our nesting house can be removedfor cleaning. Our titmice nesting houses have been designedfor all larger titmouse varieties. A small branch can be stuckinto the front to make a perch. The tits also use the nestinghouse for shelter during the winter.

Nesting holes for wrens and titsAlthough the wren is the second smallest bird in Europe, its voicewould put even Caruso in the shade. The powerful song of themale starts early in the morning and only quietens down late inthe evening. To keep their energy levels high, wrens eat plentyof insects. Wrens build their nests close to the ground in hedgesand bushes. The DENK nesting holes can simply be hung on therope supplied, without damaging trees or bushes. The roof andthe rope are attached to the body. This makes the nesting holesafe from predators. To clean, pull the roof upwards and thensimply wash out the nesting hole. Wrens will also use this holeas somewhere to shelter during the winter. It`s also suitable fortits, depending on the hanging height.

Bat caveNocturnal bats successfully hunt for insects even in the pitch dark.Sadly of the 25 types of bat native to Central Europe 17 are alreadyon the Red List of endangered species. Bats are finding fewer andfewer shelters and nesting places in our houses and gardens, be-cause the tightly closed roofs and wooden cladding on most housesdrive the useful bats out of our gardens. Hedgehog RitzThe hedgehog is in fact the sort of helper that everygardener would like to have: A night creature, itfeeds on insects, larvae, snails and slugs. The hedge-hog needs only a quite, hidden corner, where no dogsor cats go. With the Hedgehog Ritz, you ensure anall-year round dry and safe hedgehog nest. The Hedgehog Ritz will be occupied by the hedge-hog all year round; especially, however, in the win-ter for hibernation and in late summer for givingbirth to its young.

Bumble-Bee castleBumble-bees are among the most impor-tant pollinating insects. Their temperature-immunity makes it possible for them toremain searching for food much longer thanbees. With the DENK Bumble-Bee castle,these useful creatures can be given a nestwhich is almost natural and they can begiven a specific home in the garden. Wehave painted the entrance to the Bumble-Bee castle blue, because bumble-bees areattracted by this colour. Hornet nestHornets are extremely useful to people as insect exter-minators. In high summer a hornet colony will eat 500grams of insects a day. Every gardener knows the rule:where there´s hornets there´s no wasps. Hornets alsopresent very little danger. Hornets are usually less con-frontational than normal small wasps. Hornets are high-ly endangered and are under special protection. Water towerOur water tower is pleasing to the eye. It represents enjoyment of gardening,garden culture and functionality. It canbe used to decorate house walls, gardenwalls and open areas in the garden.

The water tower is a high-fired ceramicitem, frost-proof, weather-proof andwith a 15-year materials warranty.

The brass tap and the internal brassconnecting sleeve (1/2 inch) come pre-installed. A hose connection is fed intothe base from beneath and attached tothe connecting sleeve. The roof can beremoved for installation. The water toweris screwed onto a base and is extremelystable. It´s all very simple.
