2011 Consignors

Dear Angus Friends and Fellow Cattlemen:Welcome to the Ninth Annual “Denim and Diamonds” Sale and the second consecutive “On the Hill” in Denver. This unique event is the result of the collective efforts of forward-thinking Angus seedstock producers. Members of the Denim and Diamonds Group have againworked together toward the common goal of assembling an offering of elite Angus geneticsthat combine performance with excellent phenotype to become competitors at any level inour industry. The genetics and EPDs represented on both sides of these pedigrees are secondto none, as is the visual quality of the live offering.

Phenotypically, the 2011 sale offering is the strongest to date, and quality is presentthroughout. As the name suggests, “Denim and Diamonds” is a unique blend of two segmentsof the Angus industry. The 2011 Denim and Diamonds Sale combines the influence of thebreed’s most valuable and proven performance families with the deepest and most elite showprospects and herd sires in the country. The embryo matings and heifer pregnancies featurecutting-edge genetics that are sibs to some of the most popular champions and herd sires inthe industry. The focus of this year’s sale is on quality, not quantity, and I think you will findthat, like a diamond, each lot is distinctive in its own way.

I encourage each of you to evaluate your own situation and your breeding goals, and onThursday, January 13, please join us at 2:00 p.m. following the Angus Junior Show in ExpoHall 1 to view the cattle and enjoy food and refreshments, and then at 5:00 p.m. in theNational Western Beef Palace Auction Arena to take advantage of the knowledge and cutting-edge efforts of these breeders and their programs. Whether you are seeking your next herdsire, donor or your next champion, you will find it among this exceptional offering. If I can beof any assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Matt C. SimsMCS Auction, LLC
