OTBI

• Reporting tool with Fusion

• Provides customers a robust BI tool to analyze real-time transactional data in Fusion applications

• Is embedded in Fusion Cloud applications (e.g. HCM Cloud, Sales Cloud, etc.)

• Can report all data captured in the Fusion transactional data model including history

• Supports simple reporting that does not require further data enrichment outside the transactional data model

• Data Model can not be customized for reporting needs

OTBI-E

• Provides pre-built reports and dashboards designed against views, providing immediate enterprise wide visibility

• Data sourced from Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse (OBAW): Pre-built data model that is designed to support analytical requirements of OTBIE

• OBAW loaded via pre-built ETL scripts in ODI that are fed by source-specific (Fusion) data files

BICS

BICS is the Software As A Service (SAAS) Model for BIFS. Some of it’s feature specifics are:

• Cloud based analytics platform with advanced calculations and analytic functions

• Self-serve data load

• Comprised of BI Server service and single-schema Oracle database (DBAAS)

• Advanced visualizations via Visual Analyzer

• Some limitations compared to BIFS:

o No connectivity to Essbaseo Can only source data from DBAAS. No support for

connecting to on premise source(s)o Limited functionality in Online RPDo Does not support integration with LDAP or MSAD

OTBIE & OBIA Similarities

• User roles and security profiles are inherited from Fusion/On Premise Applications

• Role based security is leveraged to control catalog & subject area access

• Additional role based security can be applied in OTBI & OBIA

• Additional data filters can be applied in OTBI (via answers administration)

OBIA Reporting advantages over OTBIE

• OBIA supports data enrichment that requires complex algorithms (not supported in OTBIE)

o Headcount movement (historical snapshot, event interpretation, hierarchy lookup) o Frozen snapshot (as-is vs as-was) o Time for a new hire to become top performer (cycle time calculation) o Organizational skill gap (complex calculation)

• OBIA allows for multi-source data integration (not supported in OTBIE)

o Integrate multiple Oracle cloud data sources (HCM Cloud, Talent Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud)

o Integrate on-premises Oracle applications (PeopleSoft, EBS, Siebel) o Integrate 3rd party data

Use Cases

• OTBIFor organizations implementing cloud Fusion platform and seeking a replacement for transactional system reports provided by Nvision, Discover, etc.

• OTBIEFor organizations with OTBI environment who wish to extend reporting capabilities to include analytical reports, restricted to the data in their Fusion environments

• BIFSFor organizations who wish to implement enterprise-wide reporting and analytics in an on premise model. These organizations seek a highly customizable and controllable BI environment fed from multiple disparate data sources

• BICSFor organizations seeking to deploy a BI environment in the cloud, while avoiding high capital costs. These organizations seek a customized BI environment, which can work with both Oracle and non-Oracle data sources, with the purchase of DBAAS

• OBIAFor organizations looking to extend analytical reporting beyond their ERP/HCM environments and leverage also Oracle’s packaged application analytics content
