    Interview Feedback

Deb An - Late 20's in serious relationship female - Privacy level is medium1. High Level Idea - too much pressure b/c having it being sent from your friend you feel more obligatedto accept. Do it in a more casual setting/group would relieve pressure. "lower pressure"2. Similar Products - N/A3. Prototype Workflow feedback- Scheduling -> too evasive- Profile fill out - auto filled and change if needed- Message sending okay. Video messaging, wouldn't use it- Would prefer interaction/matching with direct(1st level) friends- Need instruction on carousel- Online chat /hangout potentially instead of RL hangout- Activity stream - potentially embarrassing - make it specific to yourself- Introduction limit.?- Matchmaker rating is okay. not okay with matching hangouts

Wayne Sin - Early 30's Single Male - Privacy level is low1. High Level Idea - idea is okay - would use2. Similar Products - Facebook is the closest

    3. Prototype Workflow feedback- calendar / optional at best / and explain why- Okay with filling out profile (standard dating stuff)- Carousel -> need more call to action. What to do? /clue- Will use it for everything

Sanyu Nakamato - Late 20's Married Female - Privacy level is medium1. High Level Idea - cool idea, but potentially awkward.2. Similar Products - myspace / email3. Prototype Workflow feedback- Calendar - skipped- profile - would fill out / open ended questions(?)- as matchmakee sending msg /video to recipient (okay potentially optional?)

    - prefer chat session online- meet up with friends and dating (not so much browsing)

Ryan Terrance - Mid 20's Single Male - Privacy level is low1. High Level Idea - would work for asian people/shy people2. Similar Products - closest to streamlining email3. Prototype Workflow feedback- would import calendar - (possibly set up time manually) only let matchmaker see it- keep profile creation simple- for potential browser only activity don't let me be matched- as matchmaker - would not shoot video. just write.- sending out google RL invite - make that more of the "male" or matchmaker perspective- sending out hangout invite - option

    - would use it for dating specifically.

Kevin Flannigan - Late 30's Single Male - High Privacy Level1. High Level Idea - would this be a facebook app.2. Similar Products - facebook3. Prototype Workflow feedback- wouldn't share contacts or calendar.- would fill out a profile- wouldn't use the video N/A- doesnt mind if the message could get to the recipient

  • 7/31/2019 Demo Deck - Team Connectors

    29/31

    - after contact : prefer the real life contact- most likely use it just to browse

Kit Wan - Late 30s Female Married - Privacy Level is Medium1. High Level Idea - loves the event planning feature and would use this over FB2. Similar Products - None3. Prototype Workflow feedback- not into sharing like Facebook but likes the activity suggestion feature- would come back to the site if there are notifications on happenings or suggestions to introduce friendsor activities- would require credibility of the site instead of being too many things to everybody eg would not look foremployment prospects on a dating site- carousel seems ok, but probably refresh the profiles to be first degree friends of the profile thats infocus- open to using video to communicate but not all the time, need option for text- need more filters for carousel- add ability to block people- add ability in profile to decline from being introduced

Karl Dressler - Late 30s Male Single - Privacy Level is medium

    1. High Level Idea - Would not go through all the trouble to meet people2. Similar Products - Facebook, Linked In3. Prototype Workflow feedback- Would use traditional email, phone or in person ways to be introduced and introduce- Too many social sites out there that could be used to meet this need even though they dont specificallymarket this feature. Does not see how this offers a distinct value add compared to other sites. Anothersite to keep track of- calendar feature has potential- needs an app to stay connected

Lisette Davidson - Late 20s - Privacy Level MediumStatements/Questions made/ask by participant (paraphrased)

    1. I thought I was so close to finished when I started, then it turned out to be more steps to get to the end2. I don't want to schedule something now, don't want to import calendar. I'll schedule after introduction, once I get to know the person or if the reason we are connecting is because I need a partner for rockclimbing and the gym only opens on certain days.3. Why do I have to import friends when I've just signed in via Facebook?4. Why the need for a profile? Don't see the need for those details. I know the people I want to introducedor be introduced to.why can't I just to get to that part of it? Maybe all you need is username, email,password?5. Why am I importing my friends from all these networks? Need to be clear on why this is helpful, forexample, use the messaging "Where can we find your friends?"6. What if I don't want to signup?7. How do you handle one friend on facebook and another using email? Confusing?8. Confused on how to scroll on the Introductions panel. A list might be better so that I can keep track of

where I am. (I might have had a confusing explanation on how to use it though). My thoughts: instead of acarousel, just having a list of your friends and then a fixed to bar to the top of the browser as you scrolldown. The fixed bar would clearly have a button to toggle between Introducing vs requesting to beintroduced.9. Also some confusing about the box in the center vs. on the sides. (Could be faulty explanation on mypart).10. The Carousel would not allow you to see a lot of profile descriptions at once. You can only see one ata time? (Wasn't sure of this one).11. Message subject seem a bit demanding: "I think you should get to know each other and here's why".How about: "I wanted to introduce you guys to each other. What if things don't work out and you don't

  • 7/31/2019 Demo Deck - Team Connectors

    30/31

really want to get to know them.12. Some confusion (I know I was) about whether the inbox views are in your actual mail box (in likegmail/yahoo) or an inbox page on friends of friends. My thoughts: I think it should be inbox page onFriends of Friends that gives you more details (e.g. video) on the introduction that would require you tologin/create a new account in order to view the message.13. The following statements are overall thoughts on the flow- tester didn't know why they are answering "How did they meet X friend?" Wouldn't the matcher havestated that when putting the folks being matched together. Confused on who the answer to this questionis for, and when do they get to see the answer in the process.- My thoughts: instead of forcing everyone to setup times to meet, it could be the matchmaker's choice.the following options should be available to the matchmaker:

    - "Make this a casual online introduction"- "Request video introductions"- "Make this a meeting introduction" (This is where setting up a meetup time and place comes in.

If my friend is looking for that partner for rock climbing, then setting a meeting time would be aappropriate).

Aggregated Responses: High Level Questions (with paraphrased answers)

    - Number of responders: 3, backgrounds: Medical Profession(1), Business/Sales/Editor(1), SoftwareDeveloper(1)

    1. What would make you introduce a friend to another (in general)?- most common answer: one friend was looking for someone like them for a particular reason- I think they like similar things/hobbies/etc- similar traits & qualities- works in the same field

    2. What would make you request an introduction from a friend to someone he/she knows (in general)?- most common answers: someone I like and have seen around them before, someone to

foster work/career relations, someone making cools things I think we should feature onInstructables. (work biased?)

    - someone I thought was cute

    - if it's someone really cool, popular- if it's someone that would help w/ my career- someone that has some deep knowledge of something and can help me- someone I liked and I've seen around before

    3. Are you more or less likely to introduce a friend online?- most common: I'm not sure because I've never really done it before- Folks have been introduced as part of an email sent to group, but not one-on-one-on-one

    4. Are you more or less likely to request an introduction online?- most common: probably, feel less scared/intimidated to ask online especially if I not a close

friend, just a colleague or an acquaintance5. Similar products or methods to achieve FoF's features

    - email usually sent to a group of people asking if anyone knows anyone who can/would like to[x]

    - email introducing new member of team/group/company- in person meetings with friends6. What would you use the site for?

    - most likely requesting introductions and making connections7. Would you find being able to exchange video introductions useful?

    - Yeah, but takes time- If I wanted to introduce myself in a really creative way, like serenading w/ playing the piano- may come in play where people are too busy to meet in person or for long distance- I'd feel I'd have to make myself look good first- could see it being useful for those who want to have a more professional appearance

  • 7/31/2019 Demo Deck - Team Connectors

    31/31

    8. If a friend sent you an email message introducing you to a friend of his/hers, how likely are are you tofollow up?

    - depends on the friend- depends on the message- how do you define friend? If a really cool company sent my info about a job opening and I'm

looking for a job, I'm really likely to follow up. I'm really likely to follow up if I had already toldthe friend about someone I was looking for for something.

    9. If a friend sent you a video message introducing you to a friend of his/hers on video, how likely are youto follow up?

    - very likely, more than if they had sent just a text email10. How likely are you to follow up with a video message introducing yourself if you initially received avideo message?

    - probably more likely11. How likely are you to follow up if your friend also requested a video introduction of yourself to his/herfriend?

    - definitely more likely than if they had not

    Summary

A pattern that weve noticed is that users with high privacy preference would prefer not to utilize most of

the products social features: video messaging / real life invites / calendar sharing. Users with medium

and low level privacy preference would use all settings with only reservation related to sharing their online

calendar. All users were interested in implementing a reward system or a quota system on the number of

matches / requests that are made so that good matchmakers are rewarded. This quota on the number of

matches/requests would prevent abuses of making bulk requests for matches.

This product can cater to high privacy preference by making sure that users can control their personal

information. The low privacy users would most likely drive the heavy usage for this application, so it might

make more sense to cater this application to only low privacy users instead of attempting to provide a

    service across the spectrum.
