Crane

The steel superstructure is specified to DIN 15018, hoisting class H2, loading group B3 for indoor operations (other classificationson request). The crane girder and the end carriages, of automatically welded box-section design, are connected by high-tensileHV screws. The perfectly reproducible crane geometry (precondition for good travel characteristics) is achieved by machining ofthe connecting surfaces to engineering tolerances, exact measurement and precise adjustment in the plant.

All design and production procedures as well as the component parts are subjected to a permanent and comprehensive qualitycontrol to DIN ISO 9001.

Crane end carriages

Besides the steel superstructure, the end carriage has a driven wheel block with a gearbox and a motor as well as a non-drivenwheel block. The travel wheel is made of spheroidal graphite cast iron (minimum tensile strength = 700 N/mm²). The design fea-tures include high durability due to roller bearings which are lubricated for life in the wheel bearing, track gauge changes by me-ans of spacer plates in the wheel blocks and drive arrangements to the right or left, as desired.

Long travel drives

Almost maintenance-free single drives drive one travel wheel on each side of the crane. The special motor winding guaranteessmooth running of the crane and high start-up frequency.

Crane travel speed Vkr= 5/20, 6,3/25, 8/31,5 or 10/40 m/min (other speeds on request)

Crabs

Demag DH hoist types of the FEM Group specified for the application are used for EZLDH crabs.

Cross travel speeds EZLDH 160-2000: Vka= 5/20 m/min(other speeds on request)

Crane controls

The crane is controlled from ground level via contactors and transformers, which are operated with the help of ergonomicallydesigned Demag control pendants, which are either

• arranged to travel independently on a Demag trolley along the Demag DML compact conductor lines which are protec-ted against accidental contact

• arranged to travel independently on a highly flexible flat cable as a trailing cable with KBK 25• fixed to the crab or• fixed to the crane girder.

Power supply

from the crane to the crab is provided by• Demag DML compact conductor lines which are protected against accidental contact• highly flexible flat cable as trailing cable with KBK 25.

A protective earth conductor is always installed. In accordance with the VDE regulations, a crane switch is provided for.Cross travel limit switches for the fast travel speed are integrated in the conductor system for cranes with the DVS system.

Corrosion protection

After a thorough pre-treatment (degree of purity Sa2 to DIN 55928), the steel parts are given a first coat of synthetic resin-basedpaint (RAL 1004 – golden yellow; min. coat thickness 60 µm). The travel drives, crab and the electric housing are given a top coatof synthetic resin-based paint (RAL 5009 azure blue).
