Excel Tools Add-In

Access the DeltaV Excel Add-Ins window in the following manner:

Start Excel Tools Add-Ins...

Add the DeltaV Excel Add-In to the Add-Ins list by selecting Browse and navigating to the file C:\DeltaV\Excel\Deltav.xla .

Selecting the DeltaV Real-time Data option displays information about a specific DeltaV operation.

DeltaV Function WizardAfter the Add-In has been checked the DeltaV Excel Add-In toolbar icons, shown

below, are added.

The DeltaV Function Wizard steps you through the reading and writing

of real-time data and setting up the worksheet’s update interval.

The DeltaV Execute icon executes the DVWrite functions in a selected range or for the entire worksheet.

Sheet Update Interval

Set the update interval for all data first. Select a cell where the update rate will be stored and then use the Function Wizard to complete the task.

Enter the cell that will hold the update interval or click on Selected to default

to the currently selected cell.

Read Data

Select the Parameter path to Read.

By selecting two adjacent cells and using the Function Wizard to set up a real-time read, the status of the value being read will also be displayed.

Write DataSelect a single cell and use the Function Wizard to set up a DeltaV Write. This inserts a DVWritefunction into the formula bar for the cell, but does not execute the write.

Note: Another cell could be referenced for the value to write instead of inputting the actual value; i.e., if $C$4 were used in place of 75, the value in that cell would be written.

If a cell containing a DVWrite function is selected and the Execute icon is clicked, the following message appears:

Answering Yes will execute the DVWrite functions in the selected range. Answering No cancels the execute.

The following steps permit you to use the DeltaV Excel Add-In:

Step 1. Assign the workstation an Excel Add-In license and download.

Step 2. Add the DeltaV Excel Add-In to the Add-Ins list in Excel.

Step 3. Set the worksheet’s update interval using the Function Wizard.

Step 4. Read FIC-102’s PV and OUT.

Step 5. Write FIC-102’s SP.
