By the close of our October meeting, we all probably felt like we had run a marathon considering how much was accomplished in a 'relatively' short time.

County Schools, presented a very enlightening program on Beginning Teachers in the Lee County Schools. Wendy Bryant Motley, art teacher at Broadway Elementary School was inducted. We adopted the revised rules and submitted them to regional director Emily Lucas for review. Ruth Priceupdated us on the work on our yearbook, which she assured us, should be ready by the December deadline.

Thanks to Patricia Pemberton for assembling the great photo display that captured Delta Rho members' involvements in the 2012 Convention (Cary, NC).What a wonderful surprise, Patty!Thanks for donating pocket change to support DKG/Eta State initiatives! Please continue to donate at each meeting. "Quiet" money is appreciated as well.Since the October meeting, Terry received notice that Zena has joined a chapter in her area. Renate recently requested to be changed from active to reservestatus citing health reasons - "not sick, just the little old aches and pains that sometimes make mobility a bit difficult." She hopes she will one day be able to resume active status. We wish both Zena and Renate the best!

The Education Excellence Committee met November 1. According to the revised rules, this committee is responsible for developing a Strategic Action Plan (SAP). The committee used the Chapter Achievement Form to assist in determining chapter target areas. The targets are: membership, scholarship, and early career educators. At our meeting, we will review our SAP and our first activity. Please review the Chapter Achievement Form and SAP (newsletter attachments).
