MemoryYour computer supports a maximum of 8GB of memory when you use two 4GB DIMMs; however, 32-bit operating systems, such as the 32-bit version of Microsoft® Windows® 7, can only use a maximum of 4GB of address space. Moreover, certain components within the computer require address space in the 4GB range. Any address space reserved for these components cannot be used by computer memory; therefore, the amount of memory available to a 32-bit operating system is less than 4GB.

NOTES: Greater than 4GB memory requires a 64-bit operating system.1600MHz is factory installed. 1333MHz is compatible with E4 platforms.

1600MHz memory will only perform as 1600MHz memory when 3rd generation CPUs are used. It will perform as 1333MHz memory if 2nd generation CPUs are installed in the system..

Memory modules should be installed in pairs of matched memory size, speed, and technology. If the memory modules are not installed in matched pairs, the computer will continue to operate.

Latitude Primary Storage

Full Disk Encryption drives provide hardware encrypted data protection which can be activated within a few seconds centrally and can be much safer and faster than software based encryption. Note: Encrypted drives require the system be configured in AHCI mode.Mobility Solid State Drives offer highly reliable, durable and lightweight storage. SSDs provide improved performance and operate quieter and cooler than standard hard drives.

•Solid State Hybrid Hard Drive Hard disk with 8GB flash storage. Delivers impressive performance and responsiveness with the simplicity of a 2.5” single drive form factor

Intel Rapid Recover Technology (IRRT)Latitude systems ship standard with IRRT functionality (exception: AHCI with FDE drives). The IRRT feature uses RAID 1 mirroring functionality to copy data from the system primary drive to an external eSATA recovery drive. This gives the user additional security as their hard disk contents can be backed up at any time when connected to an external eSATA drive through the system eSATA port or through the E-Port Docking system. Data recovery is made easy with the IRRT feature.Technology Transition: Advanced Format drivesThe Hard Disk Drive (HDD) industry is moving towards Advanced Format (AF) with 4k sector HDDs to address the current limitations with the 512-byte sector HDDs. Please find more information and instructions to ensure compatibility and performance optimization at Dell.com/512e-drives* E6230 only offers 7mm HDD options. 500gb 7mm will be available after launch, Est July block

• Express charge benefits– For a battery advertised as having the ExpressCharge™ feature, the battery typically will have greater than 80%

charge after about an hour of charging with the system off, and fully charge in about 2 hours with the system off.– Enabling Expresscharge™ requires both Latitude notebook and battery that is used on the system both ExpressCharge

capable. Lack any of above requirement, ExpressCharget will not be enabled.
