CLASSES LKG – II
3rd
OCTOBER 2018: Special assembly was held to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. The little
students of class I enacted a play depicting the life history of Mahatma Gandhi- Our father of
Nation.
8th
OCTOBER2018: Heats for our forthcoming sports day were conducted. The children
enjoyed it thoroughly.
9th
OCTOBER2018: Result of E-2 was sent to the parents through Email.
12th
OCTOBER2018: English calligraphy competition was held .It was open to all. 350
children participated in the competition and impressed everyone by their spectacular
handwriting.
13th
OCTOBER2018: Special Assembly was held to celebrate the incarnation of Goddess
Durga and festival of Dussehra.
14h OCTOBER2018: Dussehra vacations commenced.
25th
OCTOBER 2018: School reopened after the break of 10 days.
26th
OCTOBER2018: English language Capacity Building workshop was conducted by Mrs.
Ritu Shrivastava in the main wing. All the teachers from primary wing attended the
workshop.She explained beautifully that what the children enjoy, they learn the most.
So we the teachers, should plan our lessons in such a way that the children look forward to
attend our class. She also laid stress on developing the listening skill. As we have 2 ears and 1
mouth. So we can listen twice as much as we can speak. She insisted -catch the language by
listening and not by learning. This would happen only if the class is student centric and not
teacher lead.
31st OCTOBER2018: Special Assembly was held to sensitize children to celebrate cracker
free Diwali.
The assembly was presented by the little hearts of class IA & IC.

The children enjoyed forming two letter words through an activity.

“Number HUNT” activity was done to teach the children missing numbers.

“Wh and Ch” sounds were introduced to the children throughthe activity spot the correct
picture.

The students enjoyed learning Ee and Oo ki Matra by playing the game of Antakshari.
MATHS
“Arrange me backward” was the activity done to teach the children Reverse Counting.
EVS
The Children learnt to differentiate between living and non-living things through an activity.

The children learnt the concept of am/is/are by doing flashcard activity.
HINDI
Children had fun making Diwali card for their near and dear ones.
MATHS
The children enjoyed climbing up and down the ladder to learn the concept of Ascending and
Descending order.
EVS Children enjoyed the story telling session of different types of plants.
CLASS-II
ENGLISH
The children enjoyed doing the activity of linking verbs.
MATHS
Children had fun doing the Calendar making activity.

Treasure Hunt game was played to learn Animal Homes, Babies and Sound using flash
cards.

October, 2018: Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great pomp and show in school as
well as VEWA Club of NTPC Vindhyachal. The teachings of Gandhiji was exhibited and
preached by the students in the form of dance, drama and speeches. The students though
various acts and programmes gave the message of peace, non-violence to all present in the
auditorium. Our Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was paid homage for his contribution
towards Nation. The oath was administered to follow the principles of Gandhiji on this
occasion.
13th October, 2018: Inter House Athletics competitions were organized for classes III-V.
The students showed their prowess and ran fast to achieve various positions for themselves.

October, 2018: On 15th
October, 2018 wonderful and mesmerizing assembly was
presented by classes III-C to mark the beginning of Navratri. Class V-C also presented
wonderful assembly on Students’ Day to celebrate the birthday of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
which falls on 15th
October, 2018. The combined assembly caught the attention of one and
all. It was superbly performed and organized by the students and teachers. The act, drama,
songs, speeches left the indelible impression on the minds of one and all.
31st October , 2018: Pledge and oath was taken in the school to maintain the Unity and
Integrity in our country in honour of Shri Vallabhbhai Patel, Iron Man of India. The school
always celebrates his birthday by organizing Run for Unity and various other programmes in
school.
Vigilance Awareness Week: was celebrated in school and various competitions were
conducted to celebrate the same in our school. The result of the competitions are as given

1st Oct.’18- Special Assembly on ‘DAAN UTSAV’ and’ GANDHI JAYANTI’:
Monday morning witnessed a vibrance and vividness as the students presented well-knit
messages, thoughts, skit, ppt. etc. to mark both the celebrations, It was the opening ceremony
of ‘Daan Utsav’ which the school celebrates every year in order to infuse sharing, caring and
the joy of giving habits in students.

Oct’18- Gandhi Jayanti Celebration by NTPC:
NTPC,Vindhyachal organised Gandhi Jayanti ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Celebration and invited
schools with its best presentations. The Dance drama presented titled ‘GANDHIJI KA
SAPNA,SWACHH BHARAT HO APNA’ by DPSV based on the serene life of Mahatma
Gandhi touched the hearts of all present and the entire hall was echoing with claps as the
curtains fell.

Oct.’18-SWACHHATA HI SEVA (A part of Daan Utsav):
Class Teacher period was assigned for classroom cleaning by students and teachers their
concerned areas and hygienic habits taught to students so as to be practised daily.
5th
Oct.’18-Plantation Drive (Part of Daan Utsav):
Young environmentalists of DPSV arrived with saplings to be planted in the campus. Our
Honourable Principal Sir appreciated their efforts and even was a part of the plantations that
marked the occasion. ‘PLANT OF THE DAY WAS ‘CANNON BALL PLANT’ (A rare
one).
6th
Oct.’18-NTPC ORGANISED PROGRAMME:
DPSV participated in the programme organised in order to welcome DIRECTOR
OPERATION, NTPC, and VINDHYACHAL. A fabulous dance-drama, with excellent
choreography on the nine avatars of Goddess Durga was presented and our school scored the
highest appreciation among the many schools present there. The entire team made us proud
and once again DPSV became the talk of the town.
KIRAN NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION held at Katni:
A dipsite of class VII B, Eshanya Bhoi had the golden opportunity of performing Kathak in
the competition held by KIRAN NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION held at Katni. Her
fantabulous performance made her the THIRD PRESIDENT AWARD WINNER of this
region. She is extremely talented and has many more competitions to face. All good wishes to
her for adding another feather to the cap of DPSV.
9th
Oct.’18- SPECIAL ASSEMBLY BY SATLUJ HOUSE:
Two themes made the day significant - DUSHEERA and VALEDICTORY OF ‘DAAN
UTSAV’. The importance of both were well presented through speeches, quiz, power point
presentations etc. The nine of goddess Durga were presented through an excellent dance by
the dipsites. The entire programme was one of its kind and applauded by all.
9th
Oct.’18-DAAN UTSAV CONTRIBUTIONS TO SPECIALLY-CHALLENGED
CHILDREN:
This year the school shared its Daan Utsav generous contributions made by Principal Sir,
students and teachers with specially challenged children and youth at Siddhi Khurd. Our
attempts to bring smiles on the faces of these children proved fruitful and our entire team
made sure that we spend some time with them and showed our concern for them. It’s truly a
moment to cherish.

Oct’18-INTER- HOUSE KABBADI COMPETITION (GIRLS):
A tight fight was the attraction of the day on the DPSV field as the six houses played their
best in the KABBADI MATCH held at school. The co-ordinators had a heavy task to judge
and finally Ganges House played extraordinarily well exposing a team spirit and stood as the
winner and Yamuna House, the runners-up. Congratulations!!
COMPETITIVE EXAMS FOR THE MONTH:
IIO,IEO,BYJU’S Exams were conducted this month. In each exam around 200 students
participated and did their best. Each year DPSV has had better results, so this year too the
schools flag is sure to fly higher and higher.
26th
Oct’.18-SPEECH COMPETITION-VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK:
NTPC organised VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK and held speech competition on the
topic-Eradicating Corruption-Building New India in Hindi and English. Enthusiastic dipsites
of about 30 in number took part and spoke extremely well and won accolades from the
officials and all present there. All anticipate the results keeping their fingers crossed.
27th
Oct.’18-INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION(ENGLISH):
As per the activity schedule, DPSV conducted debate competition, the topic for which was –
EXCESSIVE WESTERNISED CULTURE HAS MADE INDIAN YOUTH
MATERIALISTIC.
Debaters spoke with complete thoughtfulness and exposed their vibrant speaking skills and
the entire competition held the audience attention and therefore and against interesting
argument was worth watching. Indeed it is a topic which many would like to speak about, and
students were made aware of the present scenario of India. All participants were appreciated

01.10.2018 Tea Party: To honour the effort s of CISF personnel’s, Executive Director, NTPC Vindhyachal, Shri. A.
K. Tewary threw a tea party in school auditorium which not only felicitated their concern to
school cleanliness but also encouraged their unbeatable zeal to the noble cause.
02-10-2018 Gandhi Jayanti Celebration by NTPC Vindhyachal:
A programme by Dipsites was presented focusing on the lofty ideas of Mahatma Gandhi and
his campaign about cleanliness. Ceremony to felicitate the prize winners was also one of the
core programmes of the day.
6-10-2018 - Amazing performance by dipsites at ROPR Cultural Meet & Inauguration
of Umang Bhawan at NTPC Vindhyachal:
An excellent programme was put up by DPS Vindhyanagar and it scored highest appreciation
by all the directors present.
9-10-2018 - Daan utsav:
Daan Utsav team headed by the Principal Sir, with many articles of daily use was distributed
to the poor people in the nearby village to. Everyone worked enthusiastically for the noble
cause.
In the collection of unable articles, the role of children and their sprit during the whole course
was highly commendable.
18-10-2018 - Askrit's spectacular performance in cricket:
In a cricket match between Singrauli and Rewa, Askrit Tiwari of class 11th, with his amazing
performance in bowling turned to be news of the district and added to the repute of the
school. He was honoured by the DCA (District Cricket Association) as well. Best
performance reserved great victory to .Singrauli.
NTSE- Special classes- 26-10-2018:
The school arranged special classes for the aspiring students chalking out a schedule from 26-
10-18 to 01-11-2018 the concerned teachers with their experience and expertise drilled the
students to face NTSE one of the prestigious exams of the country.
25-10-2018- Vigilance awareness week:
Vigilance Awareness Week-2018, observed by NTPC Vindhyachal conducted a vast splash
of varied competitions included: Poster Making, Speech, Essay Writing etc. The students

26-10-2018- Workshop on english capacity building:
Mrs Ritu Srivastava (T.G.T English) conducted a workshop on capacity building. She, in
the month of October only was sent to DPS Dwarka to set enriched with the expertise of the
resource persons.
28.10.2018 Admission test for Girls of Summer Camp:
In a mission to empower girls, NTPC Vindhyachal, CSR organised a summer camp in the
month of May and June. In reference to that camp 135 girls were taken a s a group and they
appeared in admission test for class V & VI conducted by the school. School was supposed to
select on the basis of their exam, 10 out of 135 girls.
29-10-18- 100% Vote Campaign:
Awareness about the importance of each individuals voting was the agenda of the District
Election officer (District Collector). The Collector, Singrauli initiated a campaign for 100%
vote in the forthcoming election. To bring awareness about the voting rights amongst the
future citizens, the pledge ceremony was administered by the collector in the presence of
distinguished officials in NTPC Stadium.
29-10-18- DPS National Badminton Tournament Girls (open) -2018-19:
In the tournament, school sent the team and it reserved its place to the second round in
doubles after beating DPS Shikohabad.
31-10-18 - National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh
Bhai Patel, the school conducted various activities amongst which pledge ceremony was the
most striking feature. The Principal administered the oath and all the dipsites repeated the
same. This thrilled the environment with respect to the iron man.
31-10-18 - Discovery School Super league Quiz Competition:
The first level of the exam was conducted in which 450 dipsites participated.
