Every school must give children an exposure to all that is available. Keeping this in mind, we
at DPS Jaipur make every attempt to give the child the same. The quarterly newsletter is one
such platform. We are proud of it.
Mr. Kulbhushan KainDirector DPS
A regional level Science exhibition was organized
by CBSE and hosted by SRN International School
Jagatpura. 11 students represented DPS from
standard VII & VIII. Creative and innovative
projects were displayed by the students. The main
attraction of the exhibition was a project named
‘Knock Knock’. The pattern of knocking
automatically opens the door for one to enter. It
was a great learning experience for all.

EXEMPLARY ACHIEVEMENT
CREATIVITY
What can be faster than light ?
Devansh of class 1–A participated in the UCMAS National
Competition and solved 145 Mathematics sums in 8 minutes.
He was awarded a trophy for the same. Well done Devansh.
A drawing and painting competition ‘FM Ke Rangrezz’ was
organized by My FM 94.3 on the topic ‘Swacch Hum Swasth
Hum’. Our students beautifully expressed themselves on
canvas. RJ Kartik enthusiastically interacted with our
students on the topic. The Principal appreciated the idea of
My FM and also stressed on the habit of cleanliness not just
on the campus but also in our surroundings.
INTER DPS LIT FEST
The Inter - DPS Literary Fest ‘A Thousand
Splendid Suns’ was organized by DPS Saket.
DPS Jaipur participated in the various events
and bagged the 2nd runners up prize in the
Proverbial Skit Competition. It was a great
learning experience for all.
The 67th Republic day was celebrated with great fervor and
patriotism. The Principal Ms. Sangeeta Kain did the honour of
hoisting the National flag. The National Anthem was sung to the
beats of the school band. The march past was followed by short
and meaningful cultural programme.
REPUBLIC DAY
CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
An extravagant Christmas Carnival to celebrate Christmas and
New year was organized by DPS. Ms. Devyani Jaipuria graced the
occasion as the chief guest . The director Mr. K.B. Kain declared
the fair open for fun and entertainment. Our enterprising
students proved their entrepreneurial skills with an array of
games and food stalls. The novelty event of the day was the
fashion show entitled ‘Flaunt’.
CITATION CEREMONY
With time, the tiny tots have matured and are ready to venture into a new big world from their happy nesting ground their
Alma Mater DPS. To recognize and acknowledge their achievement over the years we organized a Citation ceremony.
To enlighten them we had renowned personalities Dr. Ved Prakash, our chief guest for the occasion and Prof. Ramesh K.
Arora who wished the students a bright future characterized by empathy and compassion. The Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Kain
advised the students that as they tackle the inevitable changes of life they must remember to uphold their value system.
CRICKET LEAGUE
The Inter School T-20 Boys Cricket Tournament was organized
by Kooh Sports at Sanskar School. DPS reached the finals and
trounced Sanskar School by a huge margin. Shahrukh Khan was
declared the Man of the Match and Man of the series too.
BROADENING HORIZONS
INNOVATIVE PRACTICES IN MATHEMATICS
A seminar was organized to enlighten students about
brighter Career options at the international level. Faculty
members of prominent US universities like Rutgers
University, IUPUI, Kansas State University, Gustavus
Adolphus College, University of IOWA, Methodist University,
Northern Kentucky University addressed the students on the
courses offered & procedure to join.
A workshop on Vedic Mathematics was organised by DPS Society
at Udaipur. It taught methods to enhance skills on fast,
accurate and easy calculations.
MONETA - 2K16
A grand farewell “Moneta 2K16” was organized to bid good bye to our out going students of class XII. A ramp
walk for choosing Mr. DPS, Ms. DPS, Mr. Personality, Ms. Personality was the main attraction. Principal Ma’am
enlightened the students with her words of wisdom.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
“The youth of today are the torch bearers of tomorrow”.
Keeping this in mind, a CBSE certified training programme on
“ Leadership Skills in Students” was organized for the
students of Grades IX and X. The aim was to understand the
qualities of a good leader. The objective was achieved
through interactive games, inspirational videos and group
activities. The resource person was Mr Faiz Khan.
DISABILITY DAY
Compassion and concern are two qualities which
make us loving and humane. We at DPS express our
feelings for children with special needs. A signature
campaign to collect a huge sum of money was
undertaken by the staff and students which received
an overwhelming response.
GANIT WEEK
The best way to activate the brain is to make one
solve a puzzle. An event titled GANIT was organized
in DPS under the aegis of CBSE. Various activities
were organized for different grades. The students
took keen interest and participated whole heartedly
under the guidance of their respective teachers.
MOCK PARLIAMENT
Catch them young and make them grow. Taking a cue, DPS
organized a mock parliament on its campus for its students
under the initiative of the CBSE to commemorate the 125th
anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The topic was ‘Growing
Intolerance in India’. Indeed it was a very interesting session by
the students. We sure have some good leaders in the making.
SPICMACAY
Indian classical dance is said to be performed by celestial beings
for the Gods. At DPS such activities are highly encouraged. To get
a deeper meaning of dance, under the ageis of SPICMACAY, Dr.
Deepti Omchery Bhalla a leading exponent of the dance form
‘Mohiniattam’ presented a graceful performance for the students.
She also explained various gesture and technicalities of this
sacred dance form and the instruments used during the recital.
HEALTH FIRST
A talk show was organized for the students of
standard I and II. The talk included three
essentials - correct eating habit, proper care of
teeth and healthy recipes. Ms. Anju Atrey and Dr
Ishaan Grover were the chief guests for the day.
VEDIC MATH WORKSHOP
A workshop on védic maths was conducted by Mr.
Naveen Bhargava for the students of class X to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Ramanujan.
The students enjoyed the session by learning various
shortcuts to calculations.
SCORING BETTER
A workshop, “Getting better marks in 2016 Boards & Digital India” was hosted by Maharaja Sawai
Mansingh School. It was attended by twenty students of class XII from all the three streams.The
resource person Mr Jatin Chawla, Director, Centre of Career Development, Delhi guided the
students to prepare well for the exams, build concentration, time management and reduce stress.
Mr Jitendra Vaishnav from International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) made the students
aware of career opportunities and hospitality in this sector. Ms Rekha Choudhary, Director, Institute
of Design acquainted the students with career in designing. The students also enjoyed and learnt
about Digital India Programme and how we can become a part of it.
TACKLING CHALLENGES
A Training Programme in Challenging Areas in English XII, Core was organized
by CBSE at Mayoor School, Ajmer. Ms. Anjana Swami and and Ms Lakshmi
Menon attended the training programme. The session proved to be very
enriching with detailed analysis of writing skills and the Literature syllabus.
It was an effective platform for teachers from various schools to interact and
clarify certain challenging areas in English core class XII. The resource person
was Ms. Kiran Bhatt, ELT Specialist from CBSE.
ENHANCING SKILLS
A workshop on ‘Enhancing Exploring Skills’ was organized by Education Asia. The
workshop helped us to explore different teaching techniques and methods of teaching.
Some activities were very innovative and appropriate for class room teaching.
Creativity, language skills, articulation, ability to work individually and in groups, skills
of observation were explained. It was a very meaningful session.
The Annual Inter Dps Commerce Competition
was organized by Dps R K Puram. It was a platform
for the students where they could show their ability
in the field of leadership, planning and group
management. The experience gained enabled the
students to put their theoretical knowledge of the
subject into practical use. The event was a learning
experience.
THE OXFORD WAY
A workshop was organized for the teachers of both the
branches of the English Department. The Resource
person, Ms. Prakriti Srivastava, who has been associated
with the Oxford University Press, London, for the past
four and a half years, shared her valuable experience
with all the teachers of the department.
VANIJYA
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME
A workshop ‘Capacity building
programme on stress management’
was attended by a faculty member Dr.
Richa Sharma at Sanskar School. it was
an interactive workshop with activities
and psychological tests on stress and
methods on how to handle it.
A junior Citation ceremony was organised for the students
of class II. Each student was felicitated with a citation being
read by the class teacher, highlighting the child’s talents and
assets. The children lit lamps signifying the light of
knowledge and prosperity. The prayer song sung by the school
choir ‘Showers of Blessings’ was the highlight of the ceremony.
JUNIOR CITATIONCHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Celebrations and festivities bring great joy and happiness
to all. DPS believes in inculcating these qualities in its
students. The school was creatively decorated to
celebrate Christmas. The play ‘Christmas Carol’ was
presented by the children to highlight the birth of Jesus
Christ spreading the message of love, joy and peace.
ARTICULATE
A day’s workshop on art was organized at DPS
Jaipur entitled ‘ Articulate’. The objective of this
workshop was to develop an appreciation of art
among students, to introduce simple effective
techniques of art at age appropriate stages and
how to involve more and more children in
activities related to art.
CREATING LEARNERS
A Three day Workshop was organized by DPS Society.
The workshop was titled Engaging Students - Creating
Learners. The highlights of the event were to integrate
technology to create more democratic class rooms, to
adopt a collaborative approach for improved Teaching
Instructions and to involve students in making lessons
more interactive.
WATER... SO PRECIOUS
Drinking water is very precious. To understand the
importance of pure drinking water the students of
Nursery to grade II were taken on a visit to the
Reverse Osmosis plant in the school. They were
explained the process and importance of clean and
pure drinking water.
FASTER... STRONGER... HIGHER JUNIOR SPORTS DAY
The students of classes VIII and IX of DPS VDN were Taken for a visit
to Akshaya Patra that operates a centralized kitchen unit at Jaipur
with its vision'No child in India shall be deprived of education
because of hunger'. The visit was an exposure to a highly
mechanized, efficient enterprise capable of large scale cooking in a
very short time. It helped to sensitize the students towards their
social responsibility.
AKSHAYA PATRA
Students of Class 7 visited the Dainik Bhaskar Printing Press.
The objective of the visit was to inculcate a sense of inquiry
and to understand the different techniques involved in
printing a newspaper.
LEARNING THE ART OF MANUFACTURING
HANDMADE PAPER
A visit to the Hand Made Paper Industry-Kagzi, developed in
the students of Class 6 the value of conservation and reuse.
COOKING WITHOUT FIRE
A chocolate dessert 'Chocolate Fudge' was prepared by the
students of III to V on 15th December,2015 during the Morning
Activity. The students enjoyed the activity and savored their lip
smacking dish.
LEARNING TO DINE OUT
To inculcate right dining etiquettes, the students of class
III were taken for a visit to Pizza Hut on 4th March 2016.
The young dipsites enjoyed the Pizza party with their
friends and relished cheesy Pizzas.
ICE CREAM FACTORY
The students of Class V visited the Ice-cream Factory. They
learned the secret of manufacturing their all time favourite
dessert-The Ice-cream.
VISITS - LEARNING BEYOND TEXTBOOKS
VIDHYADHAR NAGAR CLIPPINGS
The versatile young dancers danced to the tunes of music exhibiting their talent in the mesmerising dance
performances during the Inter House Dance Competition.
Fun filled adventure trips organised for the Dipsites had a tranquilising and re-energising effect on them.While
their sole aim is to educate, they also develop a special bond between the teachers and the students.

CITATION CEREMONY
‘We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can
always build our youth for the future’ was the motto of the
citation ceremony organized on 18th and 19th March for the
students of Class II
Under the aegis of SPIC MACAY Delhi Public School, Jaipur
Vidhyadhar Nagar Branch organised a wonderful Dance recital
in Mohiniatttam by Dr Deepti Omchery Bhalla, a leading
exponent of Mohiniatttam and a Senior Professor of Carnatic
Music, at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, university of Delhi
on 15th December, 2015. Dr Deepti created a mesmerising
environment by her dance recital along with the explanation of
all the mudras.
SPIC MACAY
Christmas was celebrated with great pomp and show. The
students of classes I and II enthralled the audience by enacting
the scene of Nativity. The students sang carols and performed
dances thus adding to the festive atmosphere. The attraction of
the program was an interview with Santa Claus. The aim of the
celebration was to spread the message of peace, love,
happiness, truthfulness and respect. The little Dipsites won the
hearts of all the parents with their eye catching performances.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
The much awaited Spring Carnival was organised in DPS Vdn on 7th Feb'16.The Pro Vice Chairperson Ms. Dhara Jaipuria graced the
occasion as the Chief guest.Children and parents enjoyed the razzmatazz of the show as the entire arena was filled with vibrant
banners, mouth watering food and creative games stalls .To add on to the fun and frolic of the carnival, a colourful fashion show was
organised.The Shiksha Kendra children were applauded for their ramp walk. The energetic and creative Dipsite models were no less in
exhibiting their talent.The Pro Vice Chairperson gave gifts to the children of Shikha Kendra, as a token of appreciation.
SPRING CARNIVAL
BEST HOUSE TROPHY
The Best House Trophy for Sports was bagged by Jhelum House for Co-Curricular Activities by Yamuna House and
for the March Past by Chenab House. The Chief Guest awarded the trophies to the respective House Captains.

I must say it is quite befitting to call it a year of transformation. We faced many new challenges this year which generated warmth and joy in us. What matters now as we look back is that we conquered and emerged not only stronger but also full of confidence.

SPORTS DAY
Amidst a lot of fun, frolic and uninterrupted excitement the 8th Annual Sports Meet 2016 with the theme 'Traditional Sports of
India' was held at DPS Vdn on 20th Feb. The grand opening ceremony was graced by Olympic fame athlete, Arjuna awardee
Mr. Gopal Saini as the Chief Guest and the Director Mr K B Kain as the Guest of Honour. The chief Guest laid stress on promotion
of sports for the holistic development of students. There were various events like march past, yogic drill, activity based races,
songs and a remarkable, Bamboo Dance of Mizoram.
REBUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
Rebublic Day was celebrated to augment the patriotic zeal in
the students.The celebration was marked with a colourful
dance and song full of patriotism.
