Who we are

Delfin Amazon Cruises is the pioner upscale river cruise

operator in the Amazon. Launched in early 2006 by its

Founder & CEO Aldo Macchiavello, a former senior banker

with 25 years experience in the financial sector, the

company is the fulfilment of a dream shared with his wife

Lissy Urteaga: to run a boutique travel business in their

amazing country: Peru

This vision is what gave birth to Delfin Amazon Cruises and

the boutique cruise operation we proudly run and offer to

sophisticated travelers. Over 3,500 passengers have

experienced our cruises since we began operating four

years ago.

A former senior banker with extensive international travel

experience and a taste for casual yet refined travel.

Aldo Macchiavello, together with his wife Lissy, is fully

dedicated to personally managing the business. A

graduated of Purdue University’s Krannert Graduate

School of Management, with over 25 years in the

banking sector, Aldo has in-depth knowledge of Peru

and a passion for tourism. Aldo brings to the business a

unique combination of professionalism, vision,

operational capabilities and the touch of a first class

host.

Co-Founder & Service Manager Lissy Urteaga

Lissy is blessed with unlimited creativity, imagination for

details and a natural ability to make guests feel at

home. With a background in art, interior design and

extensive international travel experience, Lissy, together

with her husband and business partner Aldo, adds the

right combination of exclusivity and charm cruising on

the Amazon on board the Delfin I and Delfin II.

Our new refurbished Delfin I will be the epitome of privacy that will allow you to enjoy the most personalized

service and setting in the most mysterious and exotic environment. Just 2 deluxe master suites and 2 master

suites all of them with private decks combining comfort and luxury.

These two spacious suites of 360 square feet, features a king size bed, (or separate twins) who are wrapped on 180° panoramic windows from floor to ceiling, mini bar, in-suite seating area

with a sofa bed (may be converted in one additional bed), fine Peruvian linens (100% Peruvian

Pima Cotton 400 thread count), environmentally friendly amenities, silent A/c units, hot water,

hair dryer, in room safe deposit box and internal communication system. Our new addition is

private terraces of 320 square feet with whirlpool baths, being the first and only river vessel with

this feature.

MASTER

SUITES

These two fully air-conditioned suites are wrapped in panoramic glass windows. King Size bed

(can convert in two singles) also contains a private bath, complete with all necessities, plus a

shower that has hot water around the clock, a hairdryer, and a basket of 100% finest organic

amenities. Fine Peruvian linens, with a 400 thread count, towels & bathrobe, surrounded by the

most fantastic wooden private deck for the upmost of privacy and comfort (50 square meters

each)

Dining on the Delfin offers an unrivalled level of sophistication and the luxury of tasting simple

and natural products. Peruvian cuisine is considered one of the worlds finest and reflects the

country’s cultural diversity, the Amazon wild choice of fresh ingredients and the gentle blend of immigrant traditions have created one of the world´s most unique and delicious cuisine.

On the top deck of our vessel, a casually elegant setting creates a welcoming and

peaceful environment for those who want to get away from it all. Enjoy luxury and

comfort seated on soft, large sofas while seeing the breathtaking sights of the Amazon

and brilliant star-gazing at night. The Delfin is also equipped with an entertainment

center, a range of DVDs and reading material about the Amazon rainforest, different

wildlife presentations, an Xbox (for children) and an open bar offering a variety of

international and local drinks. Coffee and tea are always available.

Overview

Delfin II has fourteen large guest suites which include four master suites with 180ª panoramic windows and ten

cabin suites –four of which can be interconnected to accommodate families- providing all comforts of world-

class suites, yet preserving the spirit of casual and refined elegance. The dining room on the second deck,

the observation deck, bar, entertainment center, library, and our special hammock sun deck will be the

perfect gathering place for all our guests. This vessel will feature artwork by Peru’s leading contemporary

artists. If any artwork strikes your fancy, you may purchase it and we will have it shipped to the comforts of

your home.

Our for spacious master suites are at front of our vessel king-sized beds, 100% Peruvian Pima

cotton sheets, all-cotton towels, bathrobes and the finest organic amenities. A 180ª stunning

panoramic view, individual reading lights, will be the epitome of calming luxury and enjoyment.

On the third deck, you will find that our casual yet comfortable design will allow you to

relax between the wonderful adventures of the morning and night activities. Our goal is to

provide you with the highest level of service. We will make sure you enjoy relaxing in our

terrace’s big soft sofas or on our spectacular hammock sundeck, while you lie down and

watch the river go by. Our barman will always be ready with a choice of international

and local liquors for a pre or post dinner cocktail. Coffee and tea will always be available

for you!

Wellness Program

Special Requests

Delfin Amazon Cruises will accommodate special request and deal with dietary requirements (children,

vegetarian, allergic). Because we sail in such remote areas, all requests must be made at least 30 days in

advance.

Canopy Walk

The Delfin I is already the most luxurious vessel on the Amazon, with spacious cabins and top of the line

service, we wanted to bring more excitement to its itinerary. And that is why we now exclusively offer Canopy

Walking as part of both programs (5days/4nights & 4days/3nights).

Enjoy the inside views of the rainforest in this 400 meter long Canopy Walkway. A vivid sun filtering thru the

dense canopy of green. Discover a world of birds adorned in neon-brilliant colors, playful tropical monkeys

and millions of butterflies, all of this in a more intimate manner.

In this glorious Amazon rainforest environment, the animals are free in their natural habitat to show us their

best highlights, so be ready to be dazzled by them.

Kayaks

With the ongoing effort of always being one step ahead in the market, we would like to bring you two new additions to our programs: Delfin Amazon Cruises is proud to introduce its new Native´s 16” River Kayaks to

both the Delfin I & Delfin II. These kayaks, will give an excellent opportunity to paddle silently into small creeks

and lagoons. They have been especially designed for fishing, but will also allow you to gently stream down

the Pacaya Samiria flat waters if a soft adventure is what you are looking for.

We will host Professional Fishing Programs on 2012 Wet Season, July to October.

In the depths of the Amazon jungle, deep inside lagoons and creeks, pursue the fierce fishes of the Peruvian
