Greetings to all Delegates and Friends of the 108th Dallas District Assembly. I have been praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on this Assembly! There is business to be taken care of but the greater business is to allow God to move in our time together. I WELCOME each of you and pray God's blessing on you.

The Dallas District Advisory Board met ten times in the past fiscal year (eight meetings and two conference calls) for the purpose of facilitating the ministries of the Dallas District Church of the Nazarene. The following are the major action items of those meetings:
1. Approved financing request for Greenville Cornerstone church to purchase new property and building.
2. Approved a loan for Lone Star Cowboy Church of Grayson/Cooke Counties to purchase property and to build a new facility.
3. Approved a new loan and refinancing for church property at Lone Star Cowboy Church of Grayson/Cooke Counties.
4. Approved a loan by Lone Star Cowboy Church of Collin County to purchase additional property. 5. Approved a loan for Round UP Cowboy church to expand their current facilities.

6. Approved a request for a loan by Martin’s Chapel church and permission to build a new parsonage. 7. Approved the marketing and sale of the former North Texarkana Church property. 8. Approved the marketing and sale of District owned unimproved property in Greenville, Texas. 9. Approved the marketing for sale of a portion of the Carrollton church property; also approved
marketing of the parsonage at Carrollton. 10. Approved the marketing for sale of the Lone Star Cowboy of Hunt County church property and
facility. 11. Approved the marketing for sale of the Lookout Valley Church and property. 12. Approved the marketing for sale of the Dallas Central church property and Mesquite First church
property. 13. Approved the leasing of office space as the new location for the Dallas District office. 14. Approved District License renewals for ministers assigned as Senior Pastors; and submitted
recommendations of same to the District Board of Ministry. 15. Reviewed the records of ordained elders unassigned for four years or more; and referred these to
the District Board of Ministry for action. 16. Renewed and approved the transfer of District ministers, elders and deacons: and referred these to
the District Board of Ministry (these are reflected in the Board of Ministry report.) 17. Appointed Rev. Chris Galloway to the Board of the Peniel School of Ministry, a joint venture ministry
training school supported by all Texas districts. 18. Approved changes to the District Board of Ministry policy to require background checks for District
credentialed ministers every two years. 19. Approved changes to the District Board of Ministry policy to revise amounts of scholarships available
to ministers in training for Course of Study classes. 20. Recommends to the District Assembly the following name change of a local church:
a. Paris First Church to “New Life Church of the Nazarene of Paris, Texas” 21. Recommends to the District Assembly the dropping of the following church type missions:
a. The Journey Church b. Iglesia del Nazareno Estrella Solitaria
22. Recommends to the District Assembly the disorganization of the following churches: a. Lookout Valley b. Flint – the congregation voted to become a non-denomination church body c. Lone Star Cowboy of Ellis County – congregation voted to align the church with The
Wesleyan Church denomination. d. Lone Star Cowboy of Limestone County - congregation voted to align the church with The
Wesleyan Church denomination. 23. Recommends to the District Assembly the merger of Dallas Central church and Mesquite First
church; this merger has been approved by the District Advisory Board and has been approved by the vote of the two churches’ congregations as per Manual.
24. Affirmed that the District Advisory Board would carry out the functions and duties of the former Mission Action Team (Home Mission Board).
25. Appointed Jon Livengood as District NYI President, to serve until 2015 NYI District Convention. 26. Approved re-allocation of District funds to assist McKinney Emmanuel church with a new facility
lease. 27. Approved the establishment of a new church type mission:
Bass Lake Worship Center (located at the property of the former Lone Star church of Smith County
28. Advised all local church boards to adopt a Nazarene facility use policy addressing same sex marriage and related issues.
29. Appointed an Ad Hoc Finance and Budget Preparation Team to review budget needs and to develop a draft budget document for the Finance Committee.
30. Accepted a grant from the Wesleyan Investment Foundation to fund the District Leaders Christmas dinner and program.

31. Reviewed a financial report reflecting those loans to local churches where the District is a co-signer, guarantor, or has a contingent liability.
32. Approved new dates for District camps in 2016. 33. Approved revisions to the District insurance policy to shift responsibility and payment of premiums to
church type missions. 34. Appointed a District Nominations Committee for 2016 35. Approved both Scottsville Nazarene Camp and District budgets for 2016-17; recommended and
referred the budget to the District Finance Committee (budget reflected in the Finance Committee and District Treasurers reports.)
36. Approved the District Treasurer to order the annual review by auditors of the District Treasurer. 37. Monitored the monthly reports of church type missions. 38. Approved site for the 2016 District Assembly at Richardson Church of the Nazarene. 39. Advised the District Superintendent on various issues and items of concern on the District. 40. Met with Dr. Bob Broadbooks, USA-Canada Director, and with General Superintendent David Busic,
as part of the larger District Advisory Council to discuss the transition in the Dallas District Superintendent position.

17. Se designó al Rev. Chris Galloway a la Junta de la Escuela de Ministerio Peniel, una empresa conjunta de la escuela de formación ministerio apoyado por todos los distritos de Texas.

1. Finance We, your District Finance Committee, submit the following report:
A. General Information
1. We recommend that the District Treasurer arrange for an annual audit or review of the district treasurer's books by a CPA with approval of the District Superintendent and the District Advisory Board. 2. We recommend that mileage to and from all official district meetings of boards and committees be reimbursed at the current standard mileage rate for business purposes set by the IRS. 3. We recommend that all local churches contribute annually to Nazarene Bible College, Nazarene Theological Seminary and International Literature Fund on the designated special dates or at some other suitable time. 4. We recommend that the local church pay all expenses of all its official representatives to district functions. 5. We recommend that each church promote stewardship and that the materials available from the Nazarene Publishing House be used. 6. We recommend that the local church consider methods of assistance for retired elders and spouses to specific local, district, and general church functions. 7. We encourage every church to utilize the Church of the Nazarene Foundation to facilitate planned and deferred gifts from their members to any Nazarene ministry, if that organization does not have its own endowment program, including gifts to the local church, and to use the Foundation to manage investment accounts, endowments, or charitable trusts. B. District Superintendent 1. We recommend that the District Superintendent be reimbursed in full for his Social Security payment from the District Unified Funds by the District Treasurer. 2. We recommend that the cost of the District Superintendent’s family health insurance be paid from the District Superintendent’s compensation package. 3. We recommend that the District Superintendent take a one-month vacation at his discretion.
C. Ministerial Support
1. We recommend that each local church reimburse its pastor for the entire amount of his/her Social Security payments, including parsonage, rental allowance, and utilities, in the basic income figure in calculating the Social Security; that this reimbursement be made regularly; that in case of pastoral change during the year, Social Security payments shall be brought up to date on the basis of months of service rendered. 2. We recommend that the local church board or appropriate committee take time once a year to give full consideration to all aspects of the pastor's financial situation--salary, fringe benefits, expenses, etc.; that adjustments be made on the basis of rising costs of living; and that raises in salary be given. Also,

consideration shall be given to providing car and professional expenses required in the church work, since these are the obligations of the local church. 3. We recommend that each local church provide a minimum paid vacation each year (including paying guest minister) of two weeks for its pastor; that consideration be given for longer vacations commensurate with years of service rendered in the ministry on the following basis: 1 to 5 years, two weeks; 6 to 15 years, three weeks; over 16 years, four weeks. Time used for attending district and general functions should not be counted as vacation time. A provision for a love gift at Christmas of at least one week's salary and benefits should be made. We recommend that a pastor’s years of service be considered in the provision of a sabbatical during the pastor’s 7th year of service to the local congregation and that the District Superintendent be available for consultation if necessary. 4. We recommend that each local church consider setting aside monthly in a savings fund a predetermined amount, looking forward to paying the pastor's expenses in attending the General Assembly. 5. We recommend that each local church give financial assistance to its pastor to attend district, college, and general church functions where they are expected to be in attendance and where their attendance may bring benefit to the local church. 6. We recommend that each local church board provide the pastor funding for a retirement plan. 7. We recommend that each local church pay the premiums for the term life insurance offered by the general church and accidental death and dismemberment and long-term disability insurance offered by the general church. 8. We recommend that each local church consider the cost of the pastor and dependents' health insurance coverage, as well as eligible staff and dependents' insurance coverage, in setting the annual compensation packages, in accordance with the then applicable law. 9. We recommend that each local church give careful consideration to paying a minimum to an evangelist twice the weekly salary of the pastor, plus travel expenses one way. 10. We recommend that each local church that calls a commissioned, registered or tenured evangelist pay Social Security to him or her on the same basis as is recommended for the pastor in proportion to the remuneration paid. 11. We recommend that each local church remember the evangelists who have served them during the year with a Christmas check of appreciation. 12. We recommend that Sections “A,” “C,” and “E” of this Finance Committee report be sent to the secretary of each church board to be distributed to each board member. This letter will be sent from the District Finance Committee Chairperson. The District Office will also send a copy to each local church treasurer.

C. Apoyo Ministerial 1. Se recomienda que cada iglesia local reembolsar a su pastor por el importe total de sus pagos al Seguro Social, incluida la casa pastoral, subsidio para alquiler y los servicios públicos, en la figura de la renta básica en el cálculo del seguro Social; que este reembolso se haga regularmente; que en caso de cambio pastoral durante el año, los pagos del Seguro Social sean puestos al día sobre la base de meses de servicio prestados. 2. Se recomienda que cada iglesia local considere apartar mensualmente en un fondo de ahorro una cantidad predeterminada, con miras de pagar los gastos del pastor para asistir a la Asamblea General. 5. Se recomienda que cada iglesia local dé asistencia financiera a su pastor para asistir a funciones de distrito, la universidad y de la iglesia en general en el que se espera que asistan y en las que su presencia puede traer beneficios a la iglesia local. 6. Se recomienda que cada junta de la iglesia local proporcione recursos un plan de jubilación del pastor. 7. Se recomienda que cada iglesia local pague las primas para el seguro de vida, de muerte accidental y desmembramiento y el seguro de discapacidad a largo plazo ofrecido por la iglesia en general. 8. Recomendamos que cada Iglesia Local considere el costo de la cobertura de Seguro de Salud para el pastor y sus dependientes, así como para los demás miembros del personal bajo salario y sus dependientes, al fijar el paquete de compensación anual, de acuerdo con la ley aplicable en ese momento. 9. Se recomienda que cada iglesia local de una cuidadosa consideración para pagar a un evangelista el mínimo del doble del salario semanal del pastor, además de los gastos de viaje de ida. 10. Recomendamos que cada iglesia local que llama a un evangelista comisionado, registrado o titulado que le pague el Seguro Social de él o ella en las mismas condiciones que se recomienda para el pastor, en proporción a la remuneración pagada. 11. E. Fondo de Asignaciones a las Iglesias

2. Que cada nueva iglesia, hasta su organización, den 10% de sus diezmos y ofrendas como su asignación. Estos fondos deben ser enviados al Tesorero del Distrito. (Ver # 4a más abajo.)
3. Que los ingresos para las iglesias locales organizadas se definan como todos los ingresos que calificarían como una contribución deducible de impuestos al donante, menos la(s) cantidad(es) pagadas al Fondo de Evangelismo Mundial y Aprobados Especiales para misiones como se indica en el sitio web de Financiando la Misión.

Scottsville Camp and Conference Center
Scottsville Camp has a long and wonderful history. A man recently brought a poster to the campground that advertised the 44th annual 1931 Holiness Camp Meeting. Many people have told me stories of incredible things God has done at Scottsville Camp in the past. I am glad for this history. God is still powerfully using the campground today. Lives continue to be changed and inspired at Scottsville.
This has been a good financial year. All accounts have been in the black. Many structures have been remodeled and eye appeal of the campground continues to improve.

DISTRICT HISPANIC MINISTRIES Dear members of the District Assembly: The last fifteen years, I am serving the Lord in a dual role as the pastor of the Primera Iglesia del Nazareno and as your Hispanic Ministries Coordinator. During the year I had the privilege to serve like an Interim pastor during four months of the Lake June Church while we find a new pastor for them, in due to the retire of Rev. Jesus Hernandez. Praised be the Lord, Rev. Samuel Moreno and his Family accepted the challenge and now he is ministering this beloved congregation sin December. Moreover, actually I am performing the same role with Irving Maranata Church, now because Rev. Caridad Martinez arrived to her retire status. Then this has been a busy year, and I want to thank God for his faithfulness and mercy revealed during the past year. Let me share some highlights of the Hispanic Zone:
1. He blessed the Pastor's Prayer Teleconference every Tuesday morning. 2. Our good Lord, poured a special blessing on our Hispanic Family Camp, with an attendance of more
than hundred and fifty people. 3. The Lord gave us the opportunity like Hispanic pastoral families of met in November to celebrate the
Thanksgiving Dinner at the facilities of Trinity Church of the Nazarene. 4. The Lord help us in our moving into the Dallas Primera's Parsonage the first week of December. We
did it to help the local church to regain the parsonage tax exempt status, finish the building project, started almost five years ago, and take advantage of living among the East Dallas community.
5. Our good Lord allow that the Plano Primera Iglesia del Nazareno celebrated its first year of work on December 6th. With a special event that included Mexican food, of course, and música norteña (Northern Mexican Music).
6. He answered our prayers and on December 22nd, was officially installed Rev. Samuel Moreno as the new pastor of the Lake June congregation.

7. During one of prayer telephone conference, the Lord planted the seed for a new work in Paris, TX. After the conference, Pastor Emeterio Gómez –Sherman- called and asked for more details and expressed his desire to search the possibilities. Then, pastor Saul Garcia –Monte Ararat church in Mount Pleasant- also received from the Lord the same desire to do something in Paris, and they are going for to be a team to planting the new work there.
8. The grace was poured on February 5-7 when we have a group of 50 in the Spiritual Retreat to An Encounter with God at Garland Restoration Church.
9. Sunday February 7th, near to 200 Nazarenes were blessed with the Concert of Ericson Alexander Molano performed in the Central Church of the Nazarene facilities (Thanks again to Dr. Bob Simmons and the leadership of Central for allow us to use their sanctuary and fellowship area).
10. On March 11th, at Dallas Primera, we meet to learn about the Passover Dinner with the participation of Dr. Bill Katz, Missionary from Chosen People Ministries. In this opportunity sixty people participated from four of our Hispanic Churches.
11. Praised Be the Lord, in one weekend in March and other in April, we had the Training workshop on the Essentials of Planting Churches with Dr. Roberto Hodgson. Pastor Saul Garcia, pastor Salatiel Pimentel and me, who previously received our certification from DCPI, taught a group of twelve pastors and leaders. As result of this event, we begin to envision the start of new works in Little Elm, McKinney, South East Dallas and other work in Plano, during the next two years. These new dreams are added to the works in Frisco, Mineola and Paris.
12. On April we received as full member in the church of the Nazarene to the first group of four people from Plano. (Edinson Alvarado, Cesar Garcia, Maria Garcia and Evelio Martinez).
13. “El Buen Pastor” (The Good Shepherd) continues its efforts in Frisco. Under the leadership of Rev. Salatiel Pimentel and the collaboration of the Restoration Church and the Frisco New Start Church of the Nazarene.
14. Pastor Arnoldo Toj started working in Mineola, sharing the Gospel with the poor and needed Hispanic Community.
15. Finally, the mercies of the Lord were with us during the Women’s Congress “Renew Your Self”. This was the fifth year in roll for the event that is coordinated for an Ad Hoc Committee with representatives from the West Texas and Dallas District. This year the event was held in the North Side Church of the Nazarene, Watauga, TX. More than one hundred sixty women attended and were challenged to renew his service to the Lord in their families and local churches. The next year, the Event will be in our District, and I express our thanks to First Church of the Nazarene and its pastor Rev. Larry Williams for open its facilities to the Hispanic women from West Texas and Dallas Districts.
As I told you at the beginning, this year two of our pastors are now Retired: the Rev. Jesus Hernandez-in August of last year and Rev. Caridad Martinez – April the year in course-. I praise the Lord for years - totaling more than twenty between the two- who came together to reap the harvest. Our prayer is that they can enjoy God's blessings in the years to come, free of the commitment of pastoral ministry. But, who will take the places of those who follow in their footsteps? I thank God for the choices that are available for students to the Ministry, this year at least two students took their classes via ENTE online. Please join me to follow Jesus' instruction to "ask the Lord of the harvest to send out into his harvest"

Como saben, durante los últimos once años estoy sirviendo al Señor en un doble papel como pastor de la Primera Iglesia del Nazareno y como su Coordinador de Ministerios Hispanos. Durante el año tuve el privilegio de servir como pastor interino cinco meses de la Iglesia Lake June, mientras encontramos un

nuevo pastor para ellos, debido a la jubilación del Rev. Jesús Hernández. Alabado sea el Señor, el Rev. Samuel Moreno y su familia aceptaron el reto y ahora está ministrando a la congregación desde diciembre. En estos días, nuevamente estoy realizando el mismo papel, ahora con la iglesia Irving Maranata, pues la Rev. Caridad Martínez llegó a retirarse. Les comparto algunos aspectos destacados de lo que Señor nos permitió ver este año en los ministerios hispanos:
1. El Señor bendijo a los pastores cada semana en la Teleconferencia la oración del pastor cada martes por la mañana.
2. Nuestro buen Señor, derramó una bendición especial en nuestro campamento familiar hispano nazareno, en el fin de semana del cuatro de Julio, con una asistencia de más de ciento cincuenta personas.
3. El Señor nos dio la oportunidad de que las familias pastorales hispanas se reunieran para celebrar la Cena de Acción de Gracias en las instalaciones de la Trinidad Iglesia del Nazareno.
4. El Señor nos ayudó a movernos a la casa pastoral de la Primera de Dallas en la primera semana de diciembre. Lo hicimos para ayudar a la iglesia local para recuperar el estatus de exención de impuestos en la casa pastoral, terminar el proyecto de construcción de a misma que iniciamos hace casi cinco años, y tomar ventaja de vivir entre la comunidad del este de Dallas.
5. Nuestro buen Dios permitió que Plano Primera Iglesia del Nazareno celebrara su primer año de trabajo el 6 de diciembre, con un evento especial que incluía comida mexicana, por supuesto, y la música norteña (música del norte de México).
6. Él respondió a nuestras oraciones y el 22 de diciembre, se instaló oficialmente el Rev. Samuel Moreno como el nuevo pastor de la congregación en Lake June Rd.

8. La gracia se derramó del 5-7 de febrero cuando un grupo de 50 participó del Retiro Espiritual a un Encuentro con Dios en la Iglesia Restauración de Garland.
9. domingo 7 de febrero, cerca de 200 nazarenos fuimos bendecidos con el Concierto de Ericson Alexander Molano llevado a cabo en la Iglesia Central del Nazareno (Gracias de nuevo al Dr. Bob Simmons y la Iglesia Central por permitir que utilicemos su santuario).
10. El 11 de marzo, en Dallas Primera, nos reunimos para aprender acerca de la Cena de Pascua con la participación del Dr. Bill Katz, Misionero del Ministerio al Pueblo Elegido. En esta oportunidad participaron sesenta personas por cuatro de sus iglesias hispanas.
11. Alabado sea el Señor, pues en dos fines de semana, una en marzo y otra en abril, tuvimos el taller sobre los aspectos esenciales de Plantar Iglesias con el Dr. Roberto Hodgson. Pastor Saúl García, pastor Salatiel Pimentel y este servidor, quienes tienen la certificación procedente de DCPI. Un grupo de doce pastores y líderes participaron. Como resultado de este evento, comenzamos a vislumbrar el inicio de nuevas obras en Little Elm, McKinney, Sureste de Dallas y otra obra en Plano, durante los próximos dos años. Estos nuevos sueños se añaden a las obras en Frisco, Mineola y París.
12. En abril recibimos como miembros en plena comunión en la iglesia del Nazareno al primer grupo de cuatro personas de Plano. (Edinson Alvarado, Cesar García, María García y Evelio Martínez).
13. La nueva iglesia "El Buen Pastor" continuó sus esfuerzos en Frisco. Bajo la dirección del Rev. Salatiel Pimentel y la colaboración de la Iglesia de la restauración y la Iglesia del Nazareno Frisco New Start.
14. Pastor Arnoldo Toj comenzó a trabajar en Mineola, compartir el Evangelio con la Comunidad pobre y necesitado hispana.

Cerca de ciento sesenta mujeres asistieron y fueron desafiadas a renovar su servicio al Señor en sus familias e iglesias locales. El próximo año, el evento será en nuestro Distrito, y expresamos nuestro agradecimiento a la Dallas First Church of the Nazarene (DeSoto) y a su pastor Rev. Larry Williams para abrir sus instalaciones a las mujeres hispanas de West Texas y Dallas.
Como lo dije al principio, este año se han jubilado dos de nuestros pastores: el Rev. Jesús Hernández –en agosto del año pasado- y la Rev. Caridad Martínez –en Abril del año en curso-. Alabo al Señor por los años – suman más de veinte entre los dos- que se unieron para recoger la Cosecha. Nuestra oración es que puedan disfrutar de las bendiciones de Dios en los años por venir, libres ya del compromiso propio del ministerio pastoral. Pero, ¿quiénes tomarán los lugares de los que seguimos los pasos? Doy gracias al Señor por las opciones disponibles para los estudiantes del ministerio, este año, por lo menos dos estudiantes tomaron sus clases por ENTE en línea. Por favor, únase conmigo para seguir la instrucción de Jesús de “pedir al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros a su mies. "

Dallas District Women’s Ministry FaithLift 2016
FaithLift 2016 brought the ladies on the Dallas District another awesome time of celebrating the Lord. This retreat provided God’s Holy Word, prayer, praise, encouragement, guidance, fellowship and love. The Holy Spirit ministered to us in so many ways. Our 2016 speaker was Patsy Lewis and she did a magnificent job bringing the Lord’s word to life. There was no doubt that she was being used by the Holy Spirit to bring about a spiritual change in the ladies on that day. She spoke on the WONDERFUL WORDS OF LIFE and BECOMING WORLD CHANGERS. In the first session we were challenged to speak beauty into the lives of one another. Instead of speaking on the errors and mistakes, find a way to bring out the beauty in the life of that person and use that beauty to bring joy to their life. The second session we were encouraged to change the world by representing Jesus in someone’s life. Help someone however the Lord guide you and intentionally be a world changer. In both sessions we were truly fed by the Lord. The music was awesome and the praise performers did a great job. Even the physical meal was good. Every area enhanced the Holy Spirit in each session. I don’t believe anyone left this retreat in the same condition they came in. We had several first time attenders. YAY! This retreat was a retreat to remember. To God be the glory.
Ministerio de Mujeres del Distrito de Dallas Aumenta tu fe 2016
Aumenta tu fe 2016 trajo a las damas en el Distrito de Dallas otro increíble tiempo de celebrar al Señor. Este retiro proporciona Santa Palabra, la oración, la alabanza, estímulo, orientación, la comunión y el amor de Dios. El Espíritu Santo nos ministró de muchas maneras. Nuestra oradora en este año (2016) fue Patsy Lewis y ella hizo un trabajo magnífico trayendo la Palabra del Señor a la vida. No había duda de que estaba siendo usada por el Espíritu Santo para producir un cambio espiritual en las damas en ese día. Ella habló sobre las PALABRAS MARAVILLOSAS DE VIDA y que debemos CONVERTIRNOS EN TRANSFORMADORAS DEL MUNDO. En la primera sesión fuimos desafiadas a hablar de la belleza en la vida de otras personas. En lugar de hablar sobre los errores y equivocaciones, debemos encontrar una manera de poner de manifiesto la belleza en la vida de esa persona y utilizar esa belleza para llevar alegría a su vida. La segunda sesión nos animó a cambiar el mundo mediante la representación de Jesús en la vida de alguien. Ayudar a alguien al que el Señor nos guíe y que seamos intencionales al ser un

transformador del mundo. En las dos sesiones fuimos verdaderamente alimentadas por el Señor. La música estuvo increíble y los ministros de alabanza hicieron un gran trabajo. Incluso la comida física estuvo deliciosa. Cada área de fue guiada por el Espíritu Santo. No creo que nadie saliera de este retiro en el mismo estado en que llegaron. Tuvimos varios asistentes por primera vez. ¡HURRA! Este retiro fue uno para recordar. ¡A Dios sea la Gloria!
Men’s Ministry Report
TO GOD BE THE GLORY - The two day Men retreat was held at Scottsville Camp grounds in September of 2015. We consider ourselves blessed to have such a wonderful place that we can come together, fellowship, praise the Lord and enjoy outdoor activities. All of the men received a big welcome to the camp as each arrived. Each one received their living quarter assignment. On Friday evening we were blessed to have District Superintendent Dr. Lewis as our speaker. He delivered the Word with power and boldness. He blessed the men through God’s Word. During this time the men gathered and prayed. We worshipped the Lord in songs as we gave Him all the praise. The food was great. The second day of the retreat we started the day off with a great breakfast and then the games were on. The golfers were on the turf golfing. The fishers were on the lake fishing. Those who enjoy skeet shooting were putting their talent in action. We gave prizes out to those who won in each contest. I didn’t win, but I still had fun; so I guess I won after all. This was an awesome time that the men had at the 2015 retreat. If you were not there, you truly missed out on a great time in the name of the Lord. You will get another chance to be a part of this great event on September 16th and 17th of 2016 - just a couple of months away. Make sure you save the date and make plans to attend. You will not be disappointed.

¡A Dios sea la Gloria! - El Retiro de Varones de dos días se llevó a cabo en los terrenos del Campamento Scottsville en septiembre de 2015. Nos consideramos bendecidos de tener un lugar tan maravilloso para tener compañerismo, alabar al Señor y disfrutar de actividades al aire libre. Todos los hombres recibieron una gran bienvenida al campamento, a medida que iban llegando. Cada uno de ellos recibió la asignación de sus habitaciones. El viernes por la noche fuimos bendecidos de tener Distrito Superintendente Dr. Lewis como nuestro predicador. Pronunció la palabra con energía y audacia. Bendijo a los hombres a través de la Palabra de Dios. Durante este tiempo los hombres se reunieron y oraron. Adorábamos al Señor con canciones dando la honra Él. La comida estuvo grandiosa. El segundo día del retiro comenzó con un buen desayuno y luego los juegos. Los golfistas estuvieron en el césped. Los pescadores fueron al lago a pescar. Dr. David A. Busic was elected general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene at the 28th General Assembly held in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, in June 2013. At the time of his election, he had been president of Nazarene Theological Seminary since 2011. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, David was ordained in 1991 by Dr. John A. Knight. After being an associate pastor in Oklahoma and Kansas, he served as senior pastor for three Churches of the Nazarene: Vineyard Community Church (Livermore, California), Central Church (Lenexa, Kansas), and First Church (Bethany, Oklahoma). During his tenure at Bethany First, Dr. Busic helped initiate and establish the Swaziland Partnership in 2007 to help reduce the HIV/AIDS rate and assist vulnerable children in Swaziland, Africa. Dr. Busic received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Nazarene University in 1988 and a Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological
Seminary in 1993. Southern Nazarene University conferred a Doctor of Divinity degree upon him in 2010. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in theology and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has a distinguished tradition of service to the denomination. He has been a member of the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene, during which time he was also elected president of the USA National Board. From 2005 to 2013 he was a member of the Board of General Superintendents’ Thought Partners, a think tank for critical issues facing the church. Busic was co-editor for Preacher’s Magazine from 2000 to 2007. He has also published numerous articles and co-authored two books (A Pastor’s Guide to Effective Preaching and Sharing My Faith). He most recently authored Perfectly Imperfect: Character Sketches from the Old Testament, and Perfectly Imperfect, Character Sketches from the New Testament. His preaching is widely respected throughout the church, making him a sought-after speaker and leadership advisor. Dr. Busic and his wife, Christi, live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. El Dr. David A.
