DEFTONES synergy annotation

The website has a consistent back and white colour pallet with a few natural colours used in text, the background image is white feathers, because of it’s simplicity it is easy to navigate around and find what you need.

The only exception to their websites page layout is their merch store, this is because it actually takes you to a separate site but it still displays an image of the owl and keeps to a mostly black and white pallet

The album art to Deftones newest album explains the featured theme on their website, the album art is incredibly simple yet effective, its an eye catching image of an own shown on a black background, this has given the theme and colour pallet to everything else related to the album. The cover is effective because I believe it would catch someones eye without even being contraversial and causing any offence.

the Video:Diamond eyes

The music genre still falling somewhere under the rock category means, as well as beautiful and enticing pictures to grab a viewers eye, it is also important to show some clips of the band performing together, the frame still shows the same colour scheme of mostly blacks and whites.

The video is consistent in the ways of lighting, dark background with small areas of unnatural light, this creates an eerie feel to the video and is useful in portraying the storey and changing the mood of the piece, it allows allow for simple but cool shots like this guys hair =]

The video also contains quite mesmorizing scenes which include 2 women and the use of the owl from the albums cover, this is a good use of sinergy heavily focussed on one aspect of the album- the owl.
