It has been a wonderful year for HSB to achieve new milestones along the way
which definitely worth celebrating. Coming to end of 2018, there were more
activities waiting for us to end this perfect year.
Deepavali Celebration, 2nd Nov 2018
Apart from celebrating 2.5 million and 0.75 million
accident free safe man hours for project ER397A and
ER519A respectively. We have also took the chance to
celebrate Deepavali with our dearest Hindu workers.
Our workers play an important role in this big HSB family.
Joined by HSB Managing Director, Mr Thomas Ng,
Executive Director, Mr Alan Nah and Operation
Director, Mr Goh Chai Heng, the event was successfully
kicked with the lighting of the traditional lamp.
We would also like to thank, Mr Wong Fook Chee, LTA
Project Director for ER397A , for gracing the event. He
was one of the judges and presenter for the Workers
Dance Competition.
HSB’s Managing Director, Mr Thomas Ng also gave away
the award for the best poster designed by our workers
for this year’s WSHE Safety Theme, Safety Through

ER397A Road Opening, 25th Nov 2018
Congratulations to project ER397A for its official opening
of new link road connecting Punggol central to KPE and
TPE (PIE). The new road was completed ahead of
schedule , benefiting the residents of Punggol/
Sengkang. On 25th Nov 2018 morning, Deputy Prime
Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security
Mr Teo Chee Hean who is also leading Pasir Ris-Punggol
GRC flagged off the much-anticipated opening
ceremony. Together with him is Minister in the Prime
Minister’s Office and Secretary-General of the National
Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Mr Ng Chee Meng and
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and
National Development Ms Sun Xueling. The residents and
their families had participated to walk/ cycle on the new
bridge to enjoy the surrounding views as well as to get
familiarise to the new route.
Working Through Obstacles
The vehicular bridge spanning over Punggol Waterway
was a huge challenge for the Project to manage the
Environmental concerns, Working at Height and also concerns about the fatigue
management of our workers during the process of construction. However with the
use of innovative advanced technology, the project was able to overcome the
obstacles and speeding up the construction process.

HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN
Despite the busy schedule of HSB projects. The
campaign was arranged in time for HSB staff to take
time to relax and think for their body. The campaign
spreads the awareness on health and environmental
issues that everyone is facing daily. Everyone gets to
play a different sport which encourages team bonding
weekly in the month of November.
Talks given by HSB Corporate WSHE Team touched on
the topics of occupational health diseases, chronic
disease, environmental issues and how everyone could
do their part to help the environment a little through
day to day effort.
Apart from sports, staff received a gift to remind them
of the campaign and how the gift to help them take
the first step in saving the environment by reduce,
reuse, recycle and not forgetting to refuse (check out
