BRIEF HISTORY Due to the outbreak of global recession, the construction business in the country has drasti-cally dropped. Companies were forced to decrease their workforce to cope with the dilemma. Some companies had opted to halt their business to cease the sufferings caused by the finan-cial struggle.

This economic struggle did not deter Eng. Youssef Kamel to formally establish lÉâáxy ~tÅxÄ W°vÉÜ on March 09, 2011, which was in full operation in the field of architecture and deco-

ration since June 2000. Equipped with more than 20 years of experience and expertise, strong optimism and intense passion for architecture and decoration, he believes that a com-pany founded amidst the time of perplexity stands more rigid and will do far and better than that being established under ideal conditions. The company is a collaboration of experienced professionals and workforce and highly quali-fied subsidiaries who are specialized in various facets of decoration. The Quality Policy is the main guiding principle that provides the focus of Quality to the whole organization. The Quality Policy is communicated and enforced through management reviews, training, displays in English at appropriate locations in offices, site and workshop premises. Manage-ment Representative conducts regular sessions with existing employees and new employees to ensure that Quality Policy is understood by all. The Quality Policy is reviewed at least once in a year in the Management Review Meeting for its continuous suitability and improvement.

Functions and their interrelationships within the organization including responsibilities and authorities are defined and communicated in order to facilitate effective quality management.

The Organizational Chart in the following page (page 11) describes the hierarchical structure

of lÉâáxy ~tÅxÄ W°vÉÜA The Job descriptions of individuals described the responsibilities

and authorities of the company personnel. The Quality System Procedures also describe the responsibilities of personnel in relation to various quality system requirements. MANAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE Top management has appointed a Quality Management Representative (QMR) who, irre-spective of other responsibilities, has defined responsibility and authority for the Quality Management System, which includes:

1. Ensuring that processes of the Quality Management System are established and main-tained in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008;

But, preferably, involvement from design stage is an ideal start. This would enable better project outcomes. PRESENTATION OF IDEA/CONCEPTUALIZATION Ideally, involvement to the services during the conceptualization stage is the best to start with. This is the phase where the Client starts shaping the idea or project. Early presentation of concepts would facilitate and produce competitive and successful project. During this phase, the concept or idea is assessed for its constructability and financial viability. Alternatives are also presented to arrive at the best feasible required plan or design.

DRAFTING OF CONCEPT Once the idea or concept is established and considerations are set, a draft of the concept is prepared. This might be a drawing or a design depending on the requirement of the Client. This will serve as the framework of the design or project.

FINANCIAL ALLOCATION/BUDGETING The concept that is laid into plan or design is then assessed for financial allocation. Alloca-tion is normally based on recent similar completed projects and or current market condition. Cost models are presented to the client, each with distinct characteristics depending on the finishes and other requirements. Preliminary cash flows, financial options and budget are also presented to the Client.

FINAL LAYOUT AND DESIGN Once draft of the concept and the budget are laid down, a final drawing or design will be made. The prepared drawing or design would adhere to the requirements and budget set. Specifications are also prepared conforming to the needs of the Client.

CONSTRUCTION After finalization of the budget and completion of government formalities, the company will then start the construction. The company performs the work according and in compliance to the construction standard and practices. With its extensive resources and highly qualified staffs and servicemen, the company assures a cost-wise and time-wise quality work that will satisfy the standards of the Client.

ing the employees and physical assets. In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, management provides and maintains safe and healthy work environment in accordance with the industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements. It strives to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result to accidents, personal injury/illness and property damage. The group recognizes that the responsibility for health and safety are shared. All employees are deemed to be equally responsible for minimizing accidents within the facilities and job sites. Safe work practices and job procedures are clearly defined in the Company’s Health and Safety Manual for all employees to follow. Accidental losses are controlled through good management in combination with active em-ployee involvement. Safety is a direct responsibility of managers, supervisors, employees and contractors. All management activities comply with Company safety requirements as they relate planning, operations and maintenance of facilities and equipment. All employees perform their jobs in accordance with the established procedures and safe work practices.

SAFETY PROGRAMS

protection is a decisive factor in reducing the extent and severity of work related injuries and illness. Thus, the rule SAFETY FIRST comes into light. Management addresses all work related hazards, including potential hazards that could con-tribute to change in worksite conditions and practices. It addresses hazards whether or not they are regulated by government standards. A mandatory safety meeting (tool box meetings) is held at the site at the start of each shift eve-ryday ensure mastery of everyone’s responsibility towards safety. Identifying hazards are done not only by the management but most importantly, by the workers themselves. Written health and safety procedures are implemented and supervised by the safety/site engi-neer. Similarly, supervisors are trained to provide first aid treatment to apply in case acci-dents took place on the site.

The company assigns responsibilities defined in the Quality Management System to personnel ensuring that they are competent on the ba-sis of applicable education, training, skills and experience. MEASUREMENT AND MONITORING OF PRODUCT

lÉâáxy ~tÅxÄ W°vÉÜ applies suitable methods for measurement and monitoring of the

characteristics of the product to verify that requirements for the product are met. This is car-ried out at appropriate stages of the product realization process in accordance with quality plan or other planned arrangements. Evidence of implementation of required measurement and monitoring and conformance with the acceptance criteria used is recorded. Product does not proceed to next stage or is not dispatched until all specified activities have been satisfactorily completed and the related documentation is available and authorized.

CONTROL OF NONCONFORMITY

lÉâáxy ~tÅxÄ W°vÉÜ ensures that products that do not conform to requirements are con-

trolled to prevent unintended use or delivery. The controls and related responsibilities and authorities for dealing with non-conforming products are defined and documented.

The nonconforming products are dealt with in any of the following ways:

1. By taking actions to eliminate the detected nonconformity 2. By authorizing its use, release or acceptance under concession by the relevant author-

ity and, where required, by customer 3. By taking actions to preclude its original intended use or application

Records of nature of nonconformity and any subsequent actions taken are maintained. Any nonconforming product that has been corrected is subjected to re-verification to ensure conformity to the requirements.
