O The song narrative is about a relationship. The female is saying “are you diggin’ on me, I’m diggin’ on you now” which suggests that when you “dig” someone you are into them. However she is strong minded as the lyrics suggest that she needs clarification that he will be faithful. For example the lyrics say: “And you promise me faithfully, That you will be my only man”. By then end of the song she is saying “Oh this love is super”. This reveals her happiness in the relationship she has with the person.

O The story in my own words, is bringing up an area of females wanting power. She is strong minded and says that if he digs her, he has to prove that. For example it states in the lyrics that she needs a promise faithfully that he will be her only man. She has strong feelings for this person and feels proud to walk down the street with him.

O I can identify the meaning through the music genre, artist and genre too.

O Joss Stone has a big powerful voice she does hold the power in the lyrics and makes what she's saying believable as she sings with real meaning. The genre is soul and in soul they talk about issues and are strong minded. Her voice has a harsh tone but fits so well with her sense of style and the idea of the song.

O The song does conform to mainstream songs as there is a formulaic structure to the verses and chorus and instrumental.

O Words repeated in the lyrics include of: “diggin’”, “love”, “minute” and “you” as well as “super duper”. This suggests that the song is about someone in particular and the name of the song is used throughout.

O The instruments used also blend together really well creating a great sound against Joss Stone’s powerful voice. I like the use of the guitar, drums and tambourine. It is an unusual sound but I really love it.
