GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DEMAAP is a scenario based learning tool in which the user is immersed in or exposed to an air pollution scene.

The user has to select a profile and take into account other experts´ opinions to make better decisions or recommend solutions for different air pollution scenes.

DEMAAP´s target users are high-school, college and university students.

This prototype was only done for two experts, for a Environmentalist and for a Transportation Expert.

Objectives1.After analyzing experts´ opinions, the user will be able to identify possible short term and long term solutions to different air pollution scenes.

2. After answering appropriately to two scene the user will write a three pages essay.

Promote renewable energy sources and cleaner ways to use coal for reducing emissions.

Short term solutions:1. Punish drivers whose automobiles emitting large quantities of smoke. 2. Remove old automobiles and buses from circulation.3. Develop campaigns using mass media (television, radio and newspapers) to raise

public awareness about this air pollution problem. 4. Create inspection and maintenance programs to control pollution levels of the most

common and perilous pollutants emitted by automobiles.5. Invest more money in higher educational institutions to research and develop
