Fangoria Presents: THE BLOB (1988, 35mm) When horror remakes are discussed, 1988s HE BLOB de-serves a place high on the list of those that work. Updating the1950s Steve McQueen-starring classic, director Chuck Russelland his co-scripter Frank Darabont cannily set their movie ina small town out of the 50s, complete with a j.d. (Kevin Dil-

Monday Night Thread-up: BRING METHE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA (1974, 35mm)Odds are that youll be too overwhelmed by Sam Peckinpahs noholds barred road movie to Hell (Mexico) to answer its taglinespressing question.
