December 30, 2018 – Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph “See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” 1 John 3:1 During this season of giving, let us remember the most important gift we have received – being children of God. As God’s children, it’s important that we express our love for others as well. Tell your spouse, children and other family members and friends that you love them, frequently.

Our heartfelt thanks to our parishioners who donated to the 2018 Archbishop's Appeal! We have surpassed the goal set for us of $46,123! The current amount submitted

is $48,340, or 104.81% of our target. May you be blessed in your continuing generosity not only to this annual Appeal, but to our parish. If you have not already donated but wish to do so, you may go online at archregina.sk.ca; you may also place your donation in the collection basket today or you may drop it off in the mailbox at the parish office. The deadline is the end of December.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Knights of Columbus &

Catholic Women’s League for their most recent

donations to the parish building fund ($700 & $1,500

respectively). Their generous gift of time & energy to their

valuable ministries is a blessing to our parish.

Re-Imagine Education. The Saskatchewan Teachers’

Federation is undertaking a wide-ranging and

comprehensive research and public consultation process

with the goal of developing a new vision for the future of

publicly funded education in Saskatchewan. In support of

this initiative the Regina Catholic Schools Teachers’

Association is asking all the parishioners of the city to

complete a survey keeping Catholic education in mind. It

is a short survey but an important one in helping to inform

the process. The link to the survey is below. Thank you for

your consideration. https://www.reimagineeducation.ca/

2019 and applicants will know their status by May 2019 at

the latest. The first step is to get your application form.

I would like to thank all the parishioners and friends of Holy Rosary Cathedral and those who helped us in so many ways during this year especially during the Christmas festivities. To all our ushers, altar servers & sacristans, our lectors, EMHC ministers, to those who share with us their gift of music and to those who help set up our Christmas decorations and in so many varied ways. Thank you so much for all your hard work and assistance. I appreciate your time and effort. I am deeply grateful for all your prayers, support, greetings and gifts to me this Christmas season.

May you all have a happy and prosperous New Year! God bless. Fr. Dan

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your

peace: Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to

eternal life. AMEN.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears!

Turn then O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us,

And after this, our exile, show unto us The blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫ O my Jesus, forgive us our sins

Save us from the fires of hell Lead all souls to heaven

Especially those most in need of thy mercy.
