Caldwell First Nation has partnered with Meals on Wheels and VON in various geographicareas to provide meal and nutritional support to all eligible Caldwell First Nation members(see eligibility criteria below), regardless of where they live. Provided Meals on Wheels orVON meal delivery service is available in your area, we are able to provide support at no costto you. Thanks to our Home and Community Care Funding, we are able to provide this serviceto our members in need of this valuable service. How do I apply?You can apply to the program by calling the office at 1-800-206-7522 or obtaining anapplication form on our website under “Members Only”. You can also request that anapplication form be mailed or emailed to you. If you would like to inquire about eligibility orthe program via email, please contact Jo-D Simpson, Health Programs Coordinator at Jo-DSimpson.

What is the cost to access the se rv ice?What is the cost to access the se rv ice?There is no cost to eligible Caldwell First Nation members who carry a 165 Band Membership,provided their application is approved based on the eligibility criteria below. Elig ib i l i tyElig ib i l i tyThe program is designed to meet the needs of its members who are:· Homebound with a chronic disability or chronic illness.· 65 years of age or older and have difficulties preparing meals.· 18 years of age or older and have disabilities that prevent them from preparing meals.· Individuals suffering from illnesses (such as cancer, stroke, or heart attack) or recoveringfrom surgery may be eligible to receive Meals on Moccasins until they are able to manage ontheir own.· Have inadequate cooking facilities.· Live within an area that has Meals on Wheels or VON Meal Delivery Service. How it WorksHow it WorksOnce an application is received, it will be reviewed and, if approved, meals will be deliveredby your local Meals on Wheels or VON (depending on geographic location and availability inyour area. Approved applications will be approved either on a temporary or permanent basis,but not beyond the pilot deadline of March 31, 2019. In April of 2018, Council approved a new programdesigned to promote youth participation inactivities.

This program is for children and youth (up to 18years of age). It is the goal of Caldwell First Nation toprovide adequate funding so that each Nationmember, who is in full-time attendance at anelementary or secondary school and in goodstanding with the school, has an opportunity toparticipate in whatever activity they so choose.

Caldwell First Nation is able to provide up to amaximum of $500 per fiscal year (April 1 to March31) for children or youth activities and the balancemust come from the child/youth and/or his/herparent(s)/guardian(s). Such activities should offerequal opportunities for children and youth,specifically related to:

• Child/Youth athletic teams• Associations or clubs that organize and runchildren or youth activities• Local school sports teams• Child/Youth Aboriginal Sporting Organizations• Art or music lessons• Special academic groups (i.e. chess club)

Seeking Archaeological Field TechniciansTraining Provided

Caldwell is currently looking for Archaeological Field Technicians (Monitors) to support futureneeds of projects located throughout our territory. This is a project-term, field-based positionwith travel reimbursement. Archaeological Field Techs will assist with or conduct archaeologicalfield surveys. These positions may be revolving and may be on-going and are filled on an as-needed basis for specific projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Digging shovel tests and screening soil.Maintaining field notes.Compliance with Caldwell and Project guidelines.Performing other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED:Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain.Ability to work weekends and over 40 hours per week when needed.Ability to work in the field for extended periods of time.
