DEC. 29 - WINTER GAMES (SPECTATOR) This event, open to Southern Califor­nia Lifeguards, consists of dory races, swimming and paddleboard relays, and dummy tow events. It is spon­sored by the City of Los Angeles Beach Lifeguard Service. Spectators are in­vited to watch the games which will be held at Dockweiler Beach at 11 a.m.

JAN. 2-RESOLUTION REGRETTA This annual race at Marina del Rey for PHRF will be sponsored by the Westward Cruising Club. All PHRF eligible if member of YC affiliated with SCYA.

The Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs, which handles the interchange of events for the ten­member Yacht Clubs, and promotional activities for racing and cruising in and out of the Santa Monica Bay Area, elected its officers for the coming year. Elected were: Commodore: Millard Rosing ( King Harbor YC) Vice Commodore: Hilyard Brown ( Santa Monica YC) Rear Commodore: CYC Staff Commodore Fred F . Harris Secretary: Don Willis Treasurer: Jack Kinney

The Association is made up of the following Clubs: California Yacht Club, Del Rey Yacht Club, King Har­bor Yacht Club, Malibu Yacht Club, Palos Verdes Yacht Club, Santa Mon­ica Yacht Club, South Coast Corin­thian Yacht Club, South Bay Yacht Racing Club, Westward Cruising Club and Windjammers Yacht Club.

The Association is going to have a Midsummer Regatta August 18-19 and the Installation of Officers took place at California Yacht Club on the night of December 15, 1966.

A record turnout for the annual King Harbor YC Christmas Regatta saw 312 starters produce 82 trophy winners in 28 classes.

PHRF had 31 yachts in three divi­sions. Dave Behr from Los Angeles YC was first in the A group in his 5Jf meter "Honey." King Harbor YC's George Soloman and "Trition Fjordia" was fi rst in the B group, and Leo George from WCYC placed first in the C group in M-24 "Compadre."

OR and MORF numbered nine en­tries each. Two California YC skippers in two Cal-36 sloops tied for first place. Ed Sundberg's "Sundowner" and Steve Deskey's "Damoiselle" made a class race of OR. MORF winners were from KHYC with Earl Sikes Cal-25 "Ca­price" first and Pete White's Santana 22 "Lulu Mae" second.

The Cal-28 Class had 19 entries. Oscar Machado's "Natcherly," from Windjammers' YC, placed first. KHYC took the next four first place wins with · Art Baddiley's "Spindle" in the Thun­derbirds, Harry Moss in the Chal­lenger class, Dave Meginnity in the Schock 25 class, and Jim Morrison in the Coronado 25 class.
