Note from the Program Director…

As my husband will attest, I have every greeting card anyone has ever given me. Boxes and boxes of them are tucked away in the

hall closet. I cherish them because they remind me of the person who gave them to me, the effort they made, and the care behind

the sentiment they chose to share. These old cards make me happy and fill me with the warmth of knowing someone cared.

As we enter this holiday season, it’s easy to reflect negatively on this past year. I’m sharing images of old Christmas cards

throughout this edition of the Weaver to remind you of happier Christmas seasons. I hope these images bring back the warmth

and love you felt sharing holiday greetings with family and friends over the years.

While trying to be patient, I’m looking forward to the day when the pandemic is gone and life can return to normal. It will be

wonderful to reopen the Community Center and have our activities and programming running again!

My wish for you this Christmas is that you, your family and friends are safe and well. During this season of love, let’s remem-

ber and honor those who have passed before us and hold them in our hearts. Let’s celebrate the new additions that have joined our

families this year, because each one is a light toward the future. May this season bring you peace and joy. Merry Christmas!

Do You Know Someone Who is Feeling Isolated? We Want to Help!

Perhaps it’s you, someone you love, or a dear friend. As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on, and especially as the holidays draw near, peo-ple feel lonely and depressed. We want to help! The Community and Seniors Together (CAST) organization is creating a new program called CAST Connection to reach out to Sen-iors in need with a phone call, letter, or social-ly-distant visit. No charge. No obligation. Just a caring, personal contact during these un-precedented times. Would you, or someone you know, like to be contacted? Or perhaps you’d like to volunteer to reach out to those in need? Call us at 507-354-3212, email us at [email protected], or drop us a note at CAST, 600 N. German St, New Ulm, MN 56073. Thank you! ______________________________________
