Health & Safety Announcement

Due to the latest developments and the restrictions set by the Government, in regards to Covid-

19, courses are currently delivered through the Live-Online (LoL) method.

For the summer period (July – August 2020), it has been decided that the LoL delivery mode will

be continued, to ensure the Health & Safety of all our students and staff.

Following the September 2020 exam sitting period, the remaining period will be delivered through

our Hybrid method. This means that students are expected to attend courses in classroom, while

complying with the relevant Health & Safety protocols, in place. However, should students prefer

to remain in their own environment they will still have the opportunity to join the LoL sessions.

For students sponsored by their firms, access to LoL sessions will be granted upon approval of

their registration by their employers. All registered students will have secured access to

Globaltraining’s Moodle Online Platform throughout the semester.

Upon further announcements on protocols, by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth,

students will be informed accordingly.

Please rest assured that Globaltraining will be following the relevant guidelines, safety measures and precautions as required.

Course Structure

For all papers offered by Globaltraining, lectures are organised in two main phases.

Phase One – Tuition Sessions

Primary aim will be to cover the syllabus, as well as to explain and apply through questions, the

exam technique required to excel in the ACCA exams.

Phase Two – Revision Sessions

Primary aim will be to concentrate on practicing past exam questions by applying knowledge,

exam techniques and critical thinking.

Top Up Sessions (September 2020)

Revision top-up sessions have been arranged for all modules, leading to the September 2020

exams sitting. These sessions will take place end of August 2020. Please refer to the online

brochure for more details in regards to the timetable.



Timetable

Our timetable has been designed based on our students’ needs and feedback from students’

questionnaires. At Globaltraining we offer a very flexible timetable with many combinations.

The timetable for the semester July-December 2020 is presented in Appendix I. Students are

advised to read the instructions carefully and refer to the website for the most up to date version,

Lecturing Hours

For all courses both evening/ block mode, the following lecturing hours apply;

Single Lecture – Weekday 18:15 – 21:15 (unless otherwise stated)

Single Lecture – Weekend 09:30 – 12:30 (unless otherwise stated)

Double Lecture – Weekday 15:30 – 21:30 (unless otherwise stated)

Double Lecture – Weekend 09:30 – 15:30 (unless otherwise stated)

Study Material

Upon enrolment, students will receive without any extra charge, the following material;

➢ Lecturer’s plan

➢ Lecturer’s notes

➢ Lecturer’s practice questions (where relevant)

➢ An Interim Assessment and a Final Mock Exam 1

➢ Kaplan Exam Kit for all papers (except the Cyprus Variant modules)2

➢ Cyprus Variant Study Text and Exam Kits for papers: LW – CY, TX – CY, ATX – CY

1. Students will also have the opportunity to practice several times for their exams, with small practice tests

within each module.

Upon completion of the tuition session, an interim assessment will take place. Another mock will follow

upon completion of the revision phase.

Should the circumstances permit the classroom attendance, both interim assessment and mock will be

under exam conditions. If not, students should submit electronically (through their Moodle account) their

answers, upon the indicated deadline date.

Interim assessments and mocks are normally marked and returned within 10 days to students together

with detailed feedback and valuable comments.

2. For all papers (except the Cyprus Variant modules), students can buy the Kaplan Study Text from our

Administrative team.



Terms of Enrolment

Course registrations for July – December 2020 semester commence on 22nd June 2020.

An Enrolment Form needs to be completed before the beginning of each course. Students should

provide their ACCA registration number, upon enrolment.

To be eligible to attend the Globaltraining ACCA courses and granted access to the

Moodle Platform, students must complete the enrolment form, pay at least the first

instalment and ensure that fees from previous term(s) are fully settled.

Students living in another District/City, will be allowed a 20% travelling allowance.

Students joining any course late (whether evening or block), will be allowed to have access to

the LoL sessions, through the Globaltraining Moodle Platform.

Students dropping a course, after its commencement, will be charged a fee based on a

pro-rata basis. Valid date of notifying Globaltraining about dropping out of a course, is

considered to be the date that the Drop form is submitted to our department. Students

cannot drop a paper eight weeks before the mock exam.

Terms of Payment

The following terms of payment apply to those students who will not opt to benefit from any

other discount schemes (see below):

➢ 25% upon registration and before courses commencement

➢ 25% by the end of August

➢ 25% by the end of September

➢ 25% by the end of October

Students who need to vary their terms of payments, should refer to our Senior Officer, Ms Niovi

Adamidou.

Students whose fees are partly covered by their employers and get a discount on their share of

fees, must settle their share upon enrolment.

1. The repeat fees apply to any of our students who may wish to attend the entire course again and whose

criteria do not fit in the Guaranteed Pass Scheme (see below).

2. The revision module fees apply to any student wishing to attend the revision sessions only, for either

evening or block courses.

The following special discount schemes apply;

Students who settle their fees on registration and before course commencement will be offered a

10% discount. Where a student is eligible for more than one discount, the highest discount rate

will be allowed.

Guaranteed Pass Scheme (GPS)

If the below conditions are met, the student will be entitled to attend free of charge the same

course in the following semester;

➢ attended at least 85% of the lectures,

➢ achieved at least 45% in the interim assess and mock exam,

➢ attempted all tests and mocks at Globaltraining, under exam conditions.
