Walden Woods WII Bowling We look forward to all of our past bowlers joining in again and welcome any new bowlers that would like to join the fun. With all the new folks in our community, it would be great to have a full roster of 20 teams. Sign-up sheets are posted in both the Ltd. And North clubhouses and bowling will begin the week of January 1. As always, folks at the WW South are welcome to sign up for the league. Again this year, we will be scoring with a handicap rather than scratch bowling. You will be bowling once a week at a time that works for your team. Recommended times are shown on the sign-up sheets. So get your 4-person team together and sign up in the time slot that’s best for you. Please sign up no later than December 27. Any questions?? Feel free to contact Connie Green at 352-613-2871 or Marsha Serba at 518-339-0410.

Again, please sign up no later than December 27. Remember, both the Ltd and North clubhouses have Wii game consoles for our use, so regardless of where you live, you can sign up to bowl at either clubhouse. Also, if you are anxious to get some practice bowling in before we start league, feel free to use the Wii in either clubhouse at any time that will not interfere with other activities. (Look in your newsletter to check when regular activities are taking place).

Update on Homeless Vets Hello everybody and again welcome back to all our Northern friends. I know that you've been trickling in and it's good to see you again and I'm sure that more will still be coming. We want to thank everybody who came to the Memorial Service on Veterans Day and we appreciate and honor all the veterans who have served for our country. My prayer first and foremost is that all mankind would learn to love one another and none of us would have to sacrifice Our Lives. On a lighter note, Christmas is just around the corner believe it or not. A friend of mine gave me a wonderful idea that we might do something special for our veterans for the holidays. So if you find it in your heart and your wallet it would be greatly appreciated if you would come up with any type of Christmas item to donate to our homeless veterans. It could be Christmas candy, Christmas cookies, or maybe a Christmas scarf, Christmas hat or even go bigger. Use your imagination. I'm sure it'll be a great Christmas for them to get this extra love and care. And of course food, water and toilet paper donations, or your OTC credit of vitamins and personal care each month are still always welcome. If you would like to donate something non-perishable I would suggest calling the mission in Citrus. Thank you and a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. P.S .Thank you to the South and The Limited for their generous donation of proceeds from Saturday's events for the homeless veterans. P.P.S. Thank you to the couple that donated their whole year supply of OTC products to the veterans from their insurance plan. Again this is a great way to utilize your OTC products that you don't need for yourself but still fulfill your monthly or quarterly value and give it to someone else who could use it. If you have any questions about what they could use from your OTC plan please call Tom or myself. Tom Brannelly and Charlotte Mixon

Walden Woods Limited Homeowners' Association – From the President

Holiday Greetings to everyone here in Walden Woods. it's hard to believe the holidays are here already. This month at our HOA meeting we will be electing officers for the new 2 year term. Please try to attend. It's not too late to pay your HOA dues for 2018 or to join if your are a new resident. We will be welcoming a new community manager and a regional district manager as well. With the management changes we have not been able to meet with the Sun Management team regarding some of the ongoing issues and improvements for 2018. We are hoping that we can meet before the end of this year. Please support our social clubs as they have been very busy providing events for all of us. If you have visitors coming over the holidays let the office know who is here. Be safe if you are traveling over the holiday season. Please watch your speed traveling around in the park especially since there may be visitors here over the holidays. And again, please pick up after your pets as there are several pet waste stations throughout the community for your convenience. Best holiday wishes to you all and hopefully Santa won't be leaving any lumps of coal.

Nick Fleischer, President LTD HOA, 724-996-8074

Pet of the Month - Dutch

Dutch is a 17 month "Goldendoodle Parti" and a registered Therapy Dog with Nature Coast Therapy Dogs of Citrus and Hernando counties. He resides on W Rushport Ln with his owner and handler Kathie Henderson. Every week Dutch visits Sugarmill Manor, Superior Assisted Living, Diamond Ridge Rehab, Grand Living Of Citrus Hills and Lifecare. Dutch has proven himself as a Therapy Dog that makes a difference with everyone he visits, especially in memory care. In addition to weekly visits he has been requested to visit individual homes and other facilities. Dutch loves every minute of visits! People enjoy his kisses and "High 5." Dutch is fun loving, always happy, and loves to play. He loves to socialize with humans and all dogs and his favorite kitty friend "Mr. T." Dutch loves to run in the dog park with all his dog friends and chase balls. He also has taken up watching TV and will stop whatever he is doing to watch "The Voice" and "Dancing with the Stars". He loves music and dancing. Maybe dance lessons are next. If anyone in Walden Woods would benefit with a visit from Dutch, feel free to contact Kathie at 503-7091. Next Month: Giovanni

On September 30th the Ltd held a dinner/dance for the benefit of Hospice. The proceeds from the dinner, along with the share n share was $1058.00. A special thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible.

On October 1st began the Flocking of the Flamingo’s which lasted the entire month of October to make awareness of breast cancer. This year it began with Ann Pearson and Gloria Richard, on to Linda Kester and Shirley Chapman, followed by Faye Davis and Bob Berezny, collecting a grand total of $1596.00.
