*Early Winter Storytime Session – The session begins the week of January 8th with storytimes for infants, one-year olds, two-year olds and three-to-five year olds. Please see a storytime brochure for further details. See ‘Drop-In Programs’ below for storytimes for all ages that do not require registration. This session will run January 8th – February 17th. Registration begins December 26th for Manchester residents and December 28th for non-residents. *Slime Shop – Thursday, December 28th, 4pm at Cheney. Make ooey, gooey slime to take home in this awesome program for children ages 6-11. Siblings and parents remain upstairs. Registration is required and begins Thursday, December 21st.

Drop-In Programs – No registration required Pajama Storytime – Tuesdays, December 5th and 12th at Whiton; Thursdays December 7th and 14th at Cheney. 6:30-7:15pm. Join us for stories, songs and an activity – you can even come in your pajamas if you’d like! Preschool Playgroup – Fridays from 9am-3pm at Whiton and 10am-12pm at Cheney. Toys are provided and parental supervision is required. Resource Center Coordinators from Manchester Elementary Schools will host a range of preschool literacy activities at the Mary Cheney Library from 9-10:30am on Fridays, December 1st, 8th and 15th. All activities are FREE and everyone is welcome. Drop-In Saturday Storytime – Saturdays, December 2nd, 9th and 16th at 10:30am. Visit Cheney for a fun family storytime! Winter Holiday Card Craft – Wednesday, December 6th, 2-4pm at Cheney. Children may stop by Cheney between 2-4pm to make a holiday card for a family member or friend! Gingerbread Party – Wednesday, December 20th, 3-4:30pm at Cheney. Come to Cheney for a fun treat – decorate a delicious gingerbread cookie! This event is for children up to 5th grade, while supplies last. Dance Party with DJ Red Supreme - Tuesday, December 26th, 6:30pm at Cheney. Get ready to try out some new dance moves and hear awesome music at this program for kids of all ages. Crafternoon – Wednesday, December 27th, 2-3pm at Whiton. Stop by to make a cool craft. Puzzle Time - Thursday, December 28th, 2-3pm at Whiton. Relax at the library by putting together a jigsaw puzzle at this drop-in program for kids. New Year’s Eve Crafts & Countdown to Noon - Saturday, December 30th, 10:30am-12pm at Cheney. Children can celebrate the holiday early and make a party hat and noisemaker craft starting at 10:30am until our countdown to noon. We will celebrate at noon with sparkling apple cider for the kids and a parade through the library. While supplies last. Happy New Year!

Programs for Teens

take apart tuesday – Tuesdays, 3-4:30pm at Cheney. This program, for middle and high school students, gives teens a chance to take apart old toys and electronics, try coding and more! Middle School Night – Wednesdays, 6-8:30pm at Cheney. Hang out at the library to play Minecraft, video games, board games and other fun activities. Indoor Outdoor Games – Thursday, December 28th, 10am at Cheney. Play games normally found outside (corn hole, ladder ball, etc.) in the Howroyd Room! For middle and high school students.
