1 DECEMBER 2016 ‘Tis the Season of Good Food (& Discussion) The holidays are a time to reflect and give thanks. On behalf of everyone at NJTV, I would like to thank you, our loyal viewers, for spending 2016 with us. Whether you tune in for local news and public affairs programming like NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams, On the Record with Michael Aron, New Jersey Capitol Report with Steve Adubato & Rafael Pi Roman, or arts and education series like Here’s the Story, State of the Arts and Classroom Close-up, NJ; or watch a livestream of one of our community engagement events like our Healthy NJ: NJ Drug Addiction Crisis forums, you’re telling us that Jersey-centric content matters. That NJTV matters. And we appreciate your sup- port. We look forward to bringing you more local content that matters in 2017 and beyond. After serving up some pasta with U.S. Senator Cory Booker last month in the season premiere, Acocella, a Hoboken native, cooks up conversation all this month with local politicians including two former New Jersey governors, Christine Todd Whitman (December 7), who prepares Tricolore Fusilli with Peas and Herbs while discussing her experiences at home, in Trenton and Washington, D.C., and Richard Codey (December 14) who prepares Richette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe while reflecting on state legislature. Also in the kitchen: Senator Diane Allen (December 21), who ponders her political and professional career and the role of women in politics over Linguini Carbonara. Camden Mayor Dana Redd (December 28), at left, shares her passion and love for her home city over Linguini with Fresh Crab Meat, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Herbs. Looking ahead to the new year, Senator Kevin O’Toole (January 4) cooks Gemelli with Pesto and talks about his Korean heritage and 27 years in elective office. What gave Acocella the idea for Pasta & Politics? “I love politics. I love pasta. The combination was inevitable,” he says with a smile. “The series gives me, and the viewers, an opportunity to watch how the sausage gets made—both literally and figuratively—in the kitchen and in Trenton.” With the holidays just around the corner, Acocella is getting ready to wow his guests. “On Christmas Eve I sometimes whip up the traditional Italian seven course dinner with seven different fish, though my friends need to be willing to sit through a seven or eight hour dinner!” On a less grand scale, his favorite recipe is spaghetti with a deep rich tomato gravy that uses chopped ginger and garlic, as well as fresh diced mozzarella. “It makes the house smell like paradise.” HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM NJTV JOSEPH SINNOTT -John Servidio, General Manager, NJTV WEDNESDAYS IN DECEMBER AT 8PM Watch more Pasta & Politics online at njtvonline.org/programs/pasta-and-politics

DECEMBER 2016 ‘Tis the Season of Good Food (& Discussion)

The holidays are a time to reflect and give thanks. And we appreciate your sup-port. We look forward to bringing you more local content that matters in 2017 and beyond.

Join New Jersey journalist and Politifax editor Nick Acocella as he combines his two passions—Italian food and politics—for the second season of his deliciously different kind of talk show, Pasta & Politics with Nick Acocella.

“It makes the house smell like paradise.”

DECEMBER 2016‘Tis the Season of

Good Food (& Discus-sion)

The holidays are a time to reflect and give thanks. On behalf of everyone at NJTV, I would like to thank you, our loyal viewers, for spending 2016 with us. Whether you tune in for local news and public affairs programming like NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams, On the Record with Michael Aron, NJ Capitol Report with Steve Adubato or arts and education series like Here’s the Story, State of the Arts and Classroom Close-up, NJ; or watch a livestream of one of our community engagement events like our Healthy NJ: NJ Drug Addiction Crisis forums, you’re telling us that Jersey-centric content matters. That NJTV matters. And we appreciate your support.

After serving up some pasta with U.S. Senator Cory Booker last month in the season premiere, Acocella, a Hoboken native, cooks up conversation all this month with local politicians including two former New Jersey governors, Christine Todd Whitman (December 7), who prepares Tricolore Fusilli with Peas and Herbs while discussing her experiences at home, in Trenton and Washington, D.C. and Richard Codey (December 14) who prepares Richette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe while reflecting on state legislature. Also in the kitchen: Senator Diane Allen (December 21), who ponders her political and professional career and the role of women in politics over Linguini Carbonara. Camden Mayor Dana Redd (December 28) shares her passion and love for her home city over Linguini with Fresh Crab Meat, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Herbs. “The series gives me, and the viewers, an opportunity to watch how the sausage get made—both literally and figuratively—in the kitchen and in Trenton.” With the holidays just around the corner, Acocella is getting ready to wow his guests. “On Christmas Eve I sometimes whip up the traditional Italian seven course dinner with seven different fish, though my friends would need to be willing to sit through a seven or eight hour dinner!” On a less grand scale, his favorite recipe is spaghetti with a deep rich tomato gravy that uses chopped ginger and garlic, as well as fresh diced mozzarella. “It makes the house smell like paradise.”
